I'm trying to hook up my satellite receiver to the phone but the jack is on the other side of the room. I have tried going thru the attic but the wires aren't ran thru the attic (it's a two story house). I can't run it along the baseboards either because of the hardwood floors. Does anybody else have any ideas? Do they sell some sort of wireless adapter that I can plug in the wall and the receiver?

Just so you know. You do NOT have to have your phone line plugged in. The only reason it is there is so you can order PPV on it and the request gets sent back to DTV.

You will still be able to order PPV without the phone line until you reach $$$ limit then it won't allow you to anymore. We just order ours online and forget about the phone cord.

One thing you could do is remove the baseboards then run the wires behind them and reinstall. Be prepared to break a piece or 2 though. Baseboards can be tricky to remove without breaking. If it looks bulky you can gash the sheetrock behind the baseboard to make a channel for the wire.

Another option is to run them your crawl space. Just remove the jack and drill through the floor inside the wall, Connect the new wire and push it under the house. Drill a new hole inside the wall where your new jack will be and run a wire down the hole into your crawl space to find the spot where the wire comes up and install the box there.
