Yes..but it depends on the mill ends. Hardwoods are fine, birch, maple and ash. But softwoods like Pine, Spruce, and fir, will cause smoke that will cause creosote build up and require cleaning more often, it can cause chimney fires if left to long, one should never burn painted or pressure treated wood of any kind. Yes, BUT only if it's hardwood! You should not burn soft wood, like fir, hemlock or any spruce or Christmas looking trees. It will create creosote buildup in your chimney flue.and that eventually could catch on fire. Hardwoods are, Maple, oak, fruit trees etc.. Good luck, Jim

Do not burn anything in your wood stove that can create more creote and cause fire. Regular woods create enough creote that needs to be cleaned routinely in order to be safe.
