Misskitty593, You should really be careful in asking a question like this on these sites. Even though I have no doubt you are sincere in your question(based off of reading your profile). Alot of apostates on here are looking for any and all opportunity's to disrupt assembly's and conventions. And posting the exact location only helps them in their cause. You would be best to ask your service overseer or PO. As you know our meetings are not of secrecy or hidden from the public, because all are welcome. It's just that this might not be the best (even though effective) way to get that info.

It's not my intent to discourage you in any way. Just something you should probably keep in mind. :) Agape!

I wouldn't doubt the civic center, our conventions are held in a civics center... but the best thing you can do is look up the phone number of your local Kingdom hall. (where the Jehovah's witnesses in your town meet) call them, and ask where it is. Because to be exact our summer conventions are held in the civics center, (which is the 3 day one earlier in the summer, and I think the one your planning on going to is the 1 day special assembly day) the Assemblies are held in an assembly hall, in my area, which is in a totally different direction as the civics center. So, the best you can do is just call up the local kingdom hall and ask them, the date and place.

Edit: And to the above comment, Jehovah's witnesses don't even bother asking for donations, unlike other religions that make a note of it, and send around dishes and such, we prefere to keep it 100% up to the person, leaving our donation boxes in a discreet location within the kingdom halls, and in areas of the assemblys/conventions, where as afterword, we let the whole congregation know how much was donated that month, and the expenses made by the kingdom hall for its upkeep, and the total ammount the kingdom hall has, as well as how much was sent to the main branch office for distrupution of the publications. Most of the time, we also ask the members of the kingdom hall how they want to spend extra money, and what projects they feel are or are not important, in votes between meetings. the members freely give, and the expenses are used to spreading the work of preaching the good news.

The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses is at this address:
Jehovah's Witness - Kingdom Hall
740 Monticello St
Somerset, KY 42501

The assemblies and conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses are held at larger meeting places that can seat a thousand or several thousand attendees. Also, they are usually located centrally in an area with enough lodging convenient for those who must travel to the event. It seems unlikely that Somerset has the right combination of facilities to host an assembly.

There is an Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Indianapolis, and that is only about 150 minutes from Somerset, KY. It seems likely that Jehovah's Witnesses and their guests travel to Indianapolis for their assemblies.

Indianapolis Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses
1201 N Delaware St
Indianapolis, IN 46202

It's not a scam, I've been to their church, they have a small donation box in the front, and they don't make you feel obligated.
