its says in the bible "dont throw you pearls at the swine" so why are we trying to proove to atheists that God exists? we were specially chosen to be this close to GOD, so why try, we need to understand that atheists are just lost and that God hasnt opened their minds to understand, thats why no matter what me or you all try to do to convince them they still wont believe! You all know the reason they are on here is because satan sends them to make fun of us, so we get so angry that many christians on here start saying bad things and such, this is all done on purpose so they can point at us and say "looks like your not christians after all, some christian you are!" do you my fellow christians agree that we should just ignore them, because they are too "smart" for us haha (of course im joking)

It is difficult to take their insults. They mock God, Jesus and Christianity. They take our beliefs and turn it into a joke. Where is the respect? I have been guilty of fighting back at them in a non-Christian way at times, but I am only human. I see the mockery, and it does upset me. I love Jesus for what He has done for us. I feel like I am sticking up for Him, but when I fight back, I know I am actually letting Him down. Hate the sin not the sinner. Turn the other cheek. These are what He taught us. The devil tempts us at times to fight back in other manners, but we must be above temptation. Just ignore them the best you can. We know our beliefs. Their opinions don't matter because nothing can break our faith in Christianity. Ironically, my faith is strengthened because of them. They make a claim, but we know it's false. They just remind me of the great teachings us Christians believe. The bottom line is most atheists don't take the time to investigate their claims, nor do they understand faith. Faith, to me, was best described by C.S. Lewis in his book Mere Christianity. It is a great book. I highly recommend it.

Uh,ho......It seems that your frustration has just about gotten the best of you, and you may swimming in your own confusion.
The Great Commission was not to "prove" that God exists. We can not do it by human means. We walk on faith........God never asked us to prove only to spread the Gospel, sow the seed, nurture it and bring it to bear. Jesus speaks a good deal on where the seed falls., hardened, rocky and fertile soils. Many times we do not even know the seed has hit the ground!
We must accept that some do not want to believe and we can not change that person, only The Holy Spirit can do that. We are much better off and more productive by setting a good example to those that are watching our behavior, answering those who are asking questions, and lifting up the newer Christians. Having been a Christian for many years, I considered myself to be a mature one, yet still, someone points out a different prespective, or interpertation, and as a benefit I have grown.
If you, like some of us, consider this to be a ministry, then your views are needed. We each in turn, go through the frustration, sometimes I step away from the screen before sending my reply, sometimes I step away for hours, some days I set limits on how much time I spend here in a sitting.
When you need a break, take one, take all the time you need to refreshen your spirit and soul. But don't give up.........

You are so right, we should not force God into any-ones life not unless God puts it in our heart to teach them about the love of Christ. I say this because I have had many people come into my life without explanations, and I would ask God, why me? Why not me, it doesn't hurt to show the love you have from God to others. It was at the time I was a sinner, none stop. I would call myself an atheist because didn't want to make God look bad, being a Christian knowing him I would feel bad like a hypocrite, a lie from satan. I knew him but didn't really have a personal relationship as I do now. I just know that if we don't walk righteous with our Lord, every weapon formed against us will prosper. I go through so much, but God shows me his mercy and love. I have a family who say they love me, not as much as my Lord does, because actions speak louder than words. The only true love I have ever felt in my life is the love of GOD, my sweet Jesus. I will never forget who's been there for me, no one I say no one has loved me like he has. NOT EVEN MY OWN FAMILY or FRIENDS!!! I still love my family and friends, because Jesus lives in me. No matter how my sin looks, he loves me, and refines me all the time when I'm going through some fire!!! I understand who I am in Christ! Lets just continue to pray for the followers who have it in them to feel something for God!!!

This is what I do:
1) If I answer an Atheist, I typically not answering for the Atheist. I am answering for those that might see it and be edified.
If we say nothing and one who is weak in their faith comes along, it might seem that we are avoiding the question because we don't have good answers.
2) I answer because I see that the particular Atheist has left himself open to a vein of logic. Making Atheists look bad in this way is helpful.
3) The Holy Spirit can direct us to answer, even though it might not make sense at first. If God wants it answered, we are there to serve Him. So we'd better answer!

I wouldn't use this forum as a way to save people. I would hope that Christians would be respectful even through all the put downs. You're going to get the same here, at work or at school so you might as well toughen up. Learn to make a case for your faith. You can be respectful. Just ignore the questions that anger you. No answer is the best answer.

I don't agree with some of your statements, and particularly the way you state them. I choose to answer questions that genuinely seek knowledge, I avoid trolls and people who ask question just to rile me up.
I don't think I personally can convert someone, but I am more than willing to share if someone will listen to something that might open their eyes.
And they were not put here by satan, they are human beings like you and me who are just trying to figure things out. Some of them are trouble makers, but so are many Christians and others on here. You made a very broad and controversial statment there, expect people to call you out on it.

I don't think it is so much so that we should ignore or "say bad things" I think (and this is my personal opinion) we should be patient and be understanding to those whose eyes have not yet been opened. Does that make sense. As, well I think it also shows to others out there that just because we are Christians that doesn't mean we are perfect and we do have feelings of anger or so on. No one is perfect and we all have feelings and are able to express them freely. You just have to be aware of how you do and think to yourself "is this how Jesus would respond to someone who didn't know or who has not yet matured in their relationship" I hope this makes sense and helps some.

I understand what your saying but the bible says in
Matthrew 24:14 This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come.
so when the last person is reached with the good news of god's kingdom by Christ jesus the end will come for all the wicked people.
So we have to keep preaching until that day comes.

Ashot -- Thank you for your kind leadership in this subject. Here is what the scriptures say ...
(NIV)
2 Timothy 2:23-26 – Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
