Would you say that most insanely talented people are in a no win situation?

meaning that no matter how hard they try to please others they still get flack regardless because they are so good,and even in instances where they are humble.Is that why many turn to drugs and alcohol.

Not really. Some are very strong in that matter and they keep the good behavior for long time and are doing good.You have many TV people in good shape and you have actors and musicians in Good shape too.Some are the opposite.Life has black and white.
