You know why? They were charging five bucks a minute and people protested at how ridiculous the charge was. I called a pay phone from delta airlines two years ago and they charged my butt 40 dollars for just ten minutes. I could be wrong, but it's not worth it because people knew how much it was and therefore never used them. They knew there was no profit going into it. Also, there so damn cheap on planes now they could make prison look heavenly for the bull crap we have to endure as travelers they should give us free phone calls anywhere in the world. I'm sorry to rant, but traveling sucks, don't you think? I truly believe that we deserve better than having the TSA treat us like criminals when they search us and all those rules it's enough to make anyone not desire to travel. But for now, I must suck it up because I have to travel again and it's going to be hell.
