I am trying to start the Southbeach Diet to look better for school, i want to drop like 5 pounds, but my problem is that I'm constantly craving something sweet and in the first 2 weeks, everything you eat has to be sugarfree. I've done the diet before and lost a lot of weight, but lately it seems like I can't stick to it. I want to do this diet only, but I need an effective way to stop my cravings for sweet.

here's how i stop cravings and it works like a charm.
eat 3-6 walnut, peanut, cahsew, brazil nuts etc. (any tree nut or other kinds of nut)
eat 1 peanut then have a big gulp of water
eat a 2nd peanut then drink water
keep doing this very SLOWLY
stop when you get to the 6th peanut.. but try and aim for less
by all means you can keep drinking water if you want
another way of stopping cravings is to exercise
distract yourself
or ask: am i really hungry?does a bowl of plain oatmeal sound good to eat? if no.. it's a craving and not hunger
but do something wiht your hands like knitting sewing typing pl;aying an instrument lifting weihgts
or you could chew gum

Don't take any sugar substitutes. A can of diet coke always makes me want something sweet and "real"

try to count down ur age before you grab something. make it a conscious decision. do i really want this snickers bar? if ur 20: 20, 19, 18, 17, etc and you ask yourself again: do i really want this snickers bar? you probably won't
or just drink water instead!
