Do you think some of the sins of today will not still be considered sins in the distant future?
And yes I'm sure the big one's will always be there but
I ask this because at one time it was a sin to eat meat on a Friday.

Hmm. So, since certain things that aren't sins used to be sins, and certain things that are sins now won't be sins in the future, it appears that what is considered sinful changes with the times and culture. Now, is that part of God's big plan?

Don't confuse sin with a simple shift in Church tradition. Many people still refuse to eat meat on Friday, but this isn't something found in the Bible. Some Christians believe it is ok to drink alcohol, others don't. Some won't wear shorts...ever, others have no problem with it. Some exclude themselves from modern society as much as is practical, while others blend in completely.

In the end, none of these things is inherently sinful, nor are those who refrain any more righteous than those who do not. Both are Christians, and as long as they do whatever it is that they are doing to bring glory to God, He will honor it.

Sin hasn't changed...the same things are wrong today as were wrong 2,000 years ago or 4,000 years ago. Some really don't apply any more, as certain practices outlawed in the Old Testament simply aren't done anymore anyway (like boiling a baby goat in it's mother's milk), but most are still just as applicable today as when they were first written down.

Well sort of. God knows what's sin and what's not, and he's the only one who really matters. But what changes is society's perception of the relative severity of the sins (they're all the same to God) and therefore which ones are emphsized and observed. Couldn't guess which ones they'll be though. Maybe curse words. Whoever said eating meat wasn't a sin was right. It was just a symbol of mourning. But women don't cover their heads anymore.

No, those things that Almighty God called sin are still sin thousands of years later. Almighty God says, "I change not."

As far as Jewish law & the Torah, Jesus said, "I came to fulfill the law, not destroy it." Many of the Old Testament Hebrew rules and laws governing nourishment, working, etc., became fulfilled and/or void after Jesus, because most of the rabbinical law was at it roots "sacrificial". And Jesus Christ became the full and complete and ONLY sacrifice for all.

Jews, for the most part, do not believe Jesus Christ is Their Messiah. They are still waiting for Their Messiah to appear in the clouds riding a white horse. Hassidic Jews still follow all the old levitical Hebrew laws to the letter.

That is not to say that societal and political correctness will not further degenerate over the coming years. Sadly, I believe it will.

When I was growing up your word was your bond and once you gave your word you kept it, we did not need a battalion of lawyers and a small mountain of notarized paperwork to help insure a person kept their word.

When I was growing up everyone wanted to work and earn their own money and their own way in life and did so. Only the severely handicapped and the infirm elderly were not expected to work and were cared for. Now we have a generation that not only expects but demands that they be completely provided for regardless whether they can and do work or not.

When I was growing up all children were taught to be respectful to parents, adults, the elderly and those in authority and were so. Now people are shocked when a child exhibits ANY respect, honesty, & manners period.

When I was growing up people accepted the responsibility for their behaviors and actions or lack there of. Now people blame anything, everything, and anyone for their behavior BUT themselves.

When I was growing up children were expected to help their parents maintain their homes and yards and did the chores as a matter of course. We helped friends, neighbors, and others who had needs without a thought, but because it was the right thing to do. Now people do not even know their neighbors. Walk around a fight, instead of stepping in to stop it. Turn a blind eye to a neighbor who is suffering or in need of help to go about their own lives without a second thought.

When I was growing up, we may not have always liked our teachers or agreed with them, but we were respectful and I never heard a student curse a teacher or threaten a teacher, or physically come to blows with another student, much less cause a major class disruption. Now students bring guns to school, attack and threaten and harm teachers, destroy school property and shoot a school full of students because they are not happy with their life or their parents or the world in general.

The sins of today are monstrously overt enough and what is worse is there are people ready, willing, and able to defend or make excuses or create a "new psychosis" to explain away any new aberrant behaviors (sins) that will appear.

It was Never a sin to eat meat on Fridays. People did it as a sacrifice, you may do other sacrifices instead of giving up meat, it was an example of a simple Sacrifice.

It was never a sin to consume meat. You have been misinformed.

Actually, according to the Bible it is a sin to forbid people to eat meat.
1 Timothy 4:3 men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.

Sin is defined in the Bible. So while practices or deeds may become accepted by man, it will not change the fact that it is sin. To whomever said the Bible says eat whatever you want...in the old testament we are told not to eat blood nor unclean animals.

No sins are sins. Like are you talking how sexual activity is becoming so casual? that will still always be a sin in God's eyes

The sins change as the mass market for "souls" change. The church has to operate within certain boundaries of human desire or it would be abandoned.

Imagine how the Christie's would act if having and SUV was declared a sin.
