I would say It's worth putting an air intake on your 4runner no matter what. But as for the supercharger, it's pretty affordable they run for about $1500-2500 used. It'll definately add some pep, but there are some drawbacks.
With the s/c, it will require 91+ octane gas. Depending on where you live, you might need extra parts to run smoothly and safely. The TRD s/c kit has a tendency to ping at low speeds and in low gears.

Yes!!! My girlfriend was in an accident a few years ago. They slammed the truck into a tree, dead center. The four girls all survived. There was a broken leg. broken nose, and a few broken ribs from the seat belt. But, everyone made it through ok. The amazing part it the toughness of the truck. The whole front was wrapped around the tree (about 60 inches around) but there was little to no damage beyond the front. The doors were fine and everything. So great truck, gets you were you want in a fun way and tough enough to survive if you make any mistakes. :)

the S/C yes, but leave the intake off, i had a 98 tacoma 4wd and had both, the intake filter kept coming off and everything was tight. yeah it sounded good when you got on it, but the "whine" from the TRD s/c was the best. and yes you need to run 91 or higher, but when i got rid of the truck i pulled the s/c off, MAN what a different truck that was, felt slow. the "bugs" TRD had with them is all worked out, mine was a 1st gen unit(gray) new units(2nd gen) went black. would also get the auto tensioner if you install the TRD unit. good luck with your choice.

Depends what your using it for? The Intake sounds great but the Charger seems a bit much for most SUV uses outside of Racing.

if you are looking for more power from your 4runner and do not want to consider selling it and just getting something with an already existing suitable powertrain then yes. you will definitely gain noticable power but probably at a high cost and compromised reliability and longevity of your engine.

I would say yes, you will get the benefits from it..... if you put it on and sell the vehicle you better get what you paid for it....put it on and keep the vehicle and have fun!
