Any tips on starting an organization to help support those with cancer who have been wrongfully terminated?

from their jobs. It has been happening for years to many. The laws have too many holes to protect these companies from lawsuits so the best alternative is to help the victims of this outrageousness. Tips as to whether a non-profit or charity is best?

Try first to get involved in a non profit Charity organization for this type of event or a similar one and see how they operate and get some tips and pointers.. Maybe talk to your local State Representative and see where that goes. Me and my wife are Bikers and we go to a lot of fund raising runs and events for those with cancer and are in need of financial support plus the fact My wife has been a Oncology nurse for over 20 years so that keeps us in tune with those that have this unfortunate thing in their lives..best of luck to you

I feel sorry for those in this situation.

I was diagnosed only 6 weeks after starting a new job.

Luckily I work for a GREAT company, who not only gave me full paid sick leave for any time off where my Dr gave me a certificate, they were fully supportive of me as I worked part time while undergoing Chemo, with my co-workers under orders to send me home if I looked like I needed it, all with full pay. (Picture a bald, female receptionist)

The only negative? they DID extend my 6 month probationary period for a further 6 months, when I wasn't undergoing treatment!

As a single Mother, i don't know how I would have survived financially if I hadn't been receiving my normal pay packet, and I wouldn't have survived mentaly if they hadn't let me continue working.
