Very simple -- think of this analogy.
You participate in a contest and you win a $300k sports car (a 2008 prototype). It is your favorite color and is the envy of all your friends.
Question -- what kind of gas would you put in it? The cheapest or the most expensive? Would you use the dirtiest and least efficient gas or the best gas you can afford?
I am guessing you would put the best gas you can afford because you want to take care of your expensive car.
So, why would you treat your body any less than a $300k sports car? That's how I avoid junk food. I think, "Why am I going to put garbage in my body?" And, why would I spend money to take care of my car but not spend money on keeping my body -- the only body I will ever have -- healthy and well.
Take some advice, my friend -- treat your body like it is that $300k sports car. Put the best food you can in it and don't mistreat it. Do this and you'll live a very long time and you will avoid health problems. AND, you'll look great, too.

what a great question you are filled with good thoughts thsi week and I am proud of you. I am an older woman and my digestive system has changed as I got older and more sedendery. I work out with a relative a couple of times a week.
Have one or two days a week when you have treats, when you are at a party give your self a break.
I have consumed a he// of a lot of sugar, salt, fat and carbs and I have been gassy and bloated and felt like crap.
Food is to be used to nourish our bodies and God made it taste good so we would eat, Food was never meant to be a drug to medicate our problems the taste upon your mouth fis for a few moments and then it is gone.
We live in a processed food microwave society which is partly the cause for obesity. There is no speical method to keep you away from junk. Tell your self what would you rather have a food high or a healthy body and lifestyle.
I have stopped going to fast food resturants one thing about proccessed foods anything in a box or bad or microwaved there are chemicals additives and preservitives that make you hungry and dont fill you up so to compnesate you eat more to feel full it is a vicoius cycle.
AVIOD foods with MSG it makes you eat more and more but does not fill you up.
A nice glass of lowfat milk before bed time soothes the stoamch. Dont eat late at night I did the other night and threw up everything I ate. Barfy I will never do that again.
Junk foods are empty caloroies and the more you eat the more you want.
Take baby steps to cut out foods that are not healthy.

The easiest way is to not buy it at the grocery store. If you live with other people and its still around you could put a picture of what you want to look like someday on the fridge and cabinet doors, next to a picture of what you look like now (no offense).
I also heard that cravings only last 10-15 minutes, so chances are if you can weight and keep telling yourself you dont want it eventually you wont. I also pretend that I already ate it sometimes, because for some people, including myself, I feel guilt afterwards and wish I hadnt, so I just try to remember that feeling.
Resisting the good stuff is one of the hardest things to do though, so all the best to you.

I simply don't buy junk food. I keep a good variety of healthy snacks available to me. I know I'll want a snack. I always make sure to buy baby carrots, bananas, apples, whole weat crackers and nuts. When it gets really bad, I don't allow myself to go to the kitchen.

You DONT have to keep yourself away from sweet foods, if you go to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, or Sprouts they always have sweet and healthy things to eat. Always carry around water, unsweetened zero calorie all natural iced tea, mints and/or gum. This way if you have a craving just sip, chew, or suck on a mint!!

for me, it's knowing the consequences if I do.
in terms of special methods, water is a very filling and cleansing liquid, drink lots of it, and the pounds will melt away.
