This is a really stupid question. The answer is simple. No, crashing weddings is not ok by any circumstances. That was just a movie to make you laugh, not to make you think you should go out and do it. Weddings are a very personal thing for a couple and their family and friends and the couple has put a lot of time and effort into planning their special day and does not need jerks ruining it. If you don't have an invitation then don't even think about it! Plus there is a very good chance that if you go, the couple will see that they don't know you and ask you to leave. And don't think you can fool them and say you're distantly related because that won't work either. People know exactly who should and shouldn't be there because they know their invitation list well. If someone crashed my up-coming wedding they would be bashed and thrown out on the street, as it's what they deserve!
Crashing weddings is just childish, imature, rude and incredibly stupid so don't do it!!!!!!

After all of the hard work that my fiance and i are putting into this wedding, if someone crashed it, i would have them arrested. Actually, that has become a major issue. I just saw on the news that wedding crashers raid the gift envelopes then pretend to be a part of the wedding. Better not do this and just keep watching the movie.lol

Do you want to be a professional mooch with no respect for anyone? How would you feel if it was your wedding and some random guys showed up to screw your friends? You could get in serious trouble and you would have a very hard time explaining to people how you got arrested at some random wedding.

Actually if the bride and groom decide to press charges you can possibly be arrested and punished for theft, tresspassing if it's private property, and fraud. Theft because you are essentially stealing their food and favors, fraud because you are misrepresenting yourself as an invited guest in order to steal those things. In Texas if my reception is at my home and you crash it I can legally shoot you for it.
Moves are illusion and fantasy...don't be an idiot and apply things you saw in movies to your real life unless it's common sense like don't pick up hitchhikers with knives.
You can crash my wedding if I can come crash your house when I feel like it and take over your room. Then we can both be equally violated.

I don't think that it is illegal. It could turn out to be that way, the couple could press charges against you for trespassing. All in all, bad idea. I mean look at the movie, although Owen & Vince were hilarious, Owen got his a s s kicked a number of times, all because of that one wedding he crashed!! Don't do it.

No. How would you feel if you laid out 4-5 figures for a once in a lifetime party and some idiots crashed it?

Wedding dinners cost a lot for the bride and groom, so no this is not OK. Unless you happen to be at the same venue and the bride and groom invite you into their party. (That happened to my husband and a friend while they were at a function.)

I don't think that people should do that. I would be really ticked off if someone did that to my wedding. It is very disrespectful to people that you don't even know.
Just plain rude, and immature.
