Will the DREAM Act pass? I personally support the DREAM Act but I want other people's opinions. First off, all of the kids who this would effect were brought young and had no say on coming, also they probably didnt know that they were illegal until maybe once they finished high school, which by then its too late for them to do anything about it, even if they did know before that what could they do? Illegally go back and then try to come legally? I understand that technically they are still "illegal" but can you blame then for what their parents did to them? Its like calling a kid a killer just because his father killed someone, not best example. Secondly, I thought we were trying to get rid of the illegals who cause crime and hurt the US, not those who actually want to be part of it. Another issue that people have with the act is that it would be taxpayers money used, some of them probably are tax payers themselves, also what about the thousands of dollars that arent used each year?

Those same kids will become tax payers anyways, why should we stop our possible future: nurses, doctors, teachers, firemen, etc. Last, even though people say this encourages illegal immigration, illegal immigrants are going to come regardless if it is encouraged or not. They will not stop coming with a fence, or whatever is in their way until things were they live are better for them. It probably will stop some of them but I dont think many, when for some of them coming is a matter of life or death for them or their family they will risk it. Its bad enough in their country that they have to come here and work for less than minimum wage and still earn more that regular wage where they come from.

They wouldnt get into college for free first of, they would be allowed to pay the in-state tuition. Rather than having to pay out of state tuition. Though you might not be able to barely afford college if you wanted to you could take out loans, they cant. They will be temporary residents until after they finish college or join the military, which wouldnt make them illegal anymore, allowing them to get a job.

I'm probably engaging in narrow-end-of-the-wedge, slippery-slope fallacy type thinking here, but it /still/ smacks of Amnesty to me. Recent illegals shouldn't be rewarded for thier crime, and illegals who have been here decades shouldn't be rewarded for perpetuating thier crime through all those intervening years, either.

No, all that happens when you grant a exception to one segment of the illegals, is more think that their exception is only one law away. I feel for the kids that are illegal but they need to have their parents answer for their actions not the tax payers

no to the dream act for illegals. illegal behavior should never be rewarded as it encourages more of the same. my kids are paying for their educations. i doubt that the children know that they are illegal anyway how could they they think they are when what they are being shown is that their parents have never followed the rules and most behavior is learned. they have watched their parents cut in line, not wait your turn, sneak into the country, get fake i.d.'s, if the fake i.d. is compromised just get another, don't pay your taxes, if you do something wrong run, if you want something, anything just take it, despite the fact that they're here illegally try to get entitlement to things that no one else has the benefit of even if others do follow the rules and you don't.

I hope so. This program would also insure higher enrollment for our struggling military. Part of the condition would be that they have to attend 2 years of college, or, 2 years in the military.... It is unfair to expect children that have been here for the entire life they have known to "go back" to a place they don't even know.

The child may not have asked to come here, but they still shouldn't be given a free ride. They only have their parents to blame for their situation. If their parents had taken the legal way here than they wouldn't be illegal now would they?

I can barely afford to pay to go to school and they could get it for free because of that act? How is that fair to the people who are here legally? It isn't.

I love it when people say "were waisting taxpayer money on these kids"

well wouldnt you be truly wasting it if you spent that money educating these kids and you would deport them....why not have them become taxpayers and pay for the war and the baby boomers social security?

I am not at all for the Dream Act. Unfortunatly, because of the parents' choices, these children are illegal. Bad choices of the parents does not deserve amnesty to their children.
