Savour every moment, as they grow so fast!
Laughter... most important I think, to be able to laugh with them, it's contagious! I just love to hear my kids laugh.
And of course, patience.
(and a nice glass of red wine after they go to bed...)

It's not a question of whether or not you will mess up your child(ren), it's a question of how and to what extent. The "perfect parent" does not exist. Love your children, set firm but fair limits, and hopefully you'll all survive.

Love the child above all else.
If you love your child you will be consistent and know how best to handle every situation, because you will see every issue and punishment as a chance to teach them how to be compassionate functional adults.
When you rise, when you lay down, as you walk down the road, constantly teach them all the things they need to know. Constantly consistent.

Listen to yourself and your baby, people say babies don't come with manuals but really they do. People usually run into problems when they try to make their family fit some ideal.
We're all different.

Pray with your babies and make sure they know they are loved - by you; family and GOD. And that there is NOTHING they can do to make you stop loving them....oh and tell those beautiful baby girls that they are BEAUTIFUL from birth untill.....that way they wont have to look to any boys/men to do it!
