I just got a speeding ticket driving Home from Atlanta to Virginia. I got pulled over in North Carolina 5 hours from here for doing 80 in a 70. I leave for army boot camp on MONDAY. I already have my MOS and ship date. Should i tell my recruiter or just pay it through the mail and forget about it and dont worry about it? If i tell my recruiter is it going to delay my date? Any help would be great. I dont know what to do.

Call the County Courthouse (In NC) tomorrow or Friday, and seek the advice of the COURT CLERK on how best to get it paid. Get the name of the person you spoke with, and keep it in a safe place. Once you're out of boot, follow up on it by calling that person back and making sure they received your payment and the matter has been cleared.

The only way it would delay your ship date is if you're going to fight the ticket... in which case, you'd have to wait for a court date... BAD IDEA!!

A lot of states will forgive the ticket under those conditions but NC isnt one of them most likely. I was there for 5 yrs and they werent too friendly to us military types. My favorite speeding incident I was going like 90 in a 50 and the cop came to my car and said " who do you think you are Mario fuc-ing andretti?? Luckily for me there was a fatal crash a few miles up the road and he had to bolt so I got off.
No I dont speed or anything now but I was like 20 then

I would actually pay it and also tell your recruiter it can't hurt. before my husband joined back in Nov, we had to tell the recruiter of all tickets he recieved (speeding, etc) and my husband was a truck driver for 16 years just before he joined...lol We even had to tell them about a no logbook violation.
Like i said pay it, but also tell them, i don't think it will ruin your ship out date.

It's just a traffic ticket. Pay it and tell your recruiter. You can tell your Drill Sergeant if you want, but it won't do anything for you except give the drill another reason to lay into you.

First, you need to tell your recruiter, it won't disqualify you, but it will if you lie and don't tell anymone, and in a worse sense. Second, once you tell him/her, PAY THE TICKET IMMEDIATELY! So get on the phone, call your recruiter, and then send the money out!

Good luck to you and don't worry, there are much worse things than speeding tickets, your a normal american driver!

Plead guilty by mail, send the fine and go.
Or, call the court where the ticket was issued and ask how to go about matters to settle the ticket.
Let your recruiter know and if you ship out let your Drill Sergeant know also as this may affect your training.

Make sure that payment is a money order and don't ever loose the receipt or the copy of the paper work to send in---yes I said make copies. Don't loose or you may end up with warrant for not payijng...

Pay it and let your recruiter know after you pay it. Or don't say anything about it unless you were told that you need to let them know or are asked.

"Luckily for me there was a fatal crash a few miles up the road and he had to bolt so I got off.". . . . . . .

that has to be the most moronic statement I ever read to justify speeding!!!!!!

Nice of somebody to get killed just to give you a break.
