Last night I had a dream that I was working at the hotel when I noticed a large hump in the water moving towards the building. I remember the boats out in the gulf being lifted up as the wave passed under them. And then sliding seemingly unharmed down the back side as the wave moved on.

I remember thinking that I needed to get to at least the fifth floor to get above the wave. I remember worrying because the more steps I climbed the higher the hump got.

I was just about even with the top of the wave, when I noticed that some fool in housekeeping had blocked the stairs with their buggies and what not, and I couldn't go any higher. I then fell back on the hope that the wall I was standing in front of was concrete and would help sheild me from the wave a little bit. But of course it was stucco. MAN!!!

So if a tsunami hits Panama City Beach, you heard it here first. And if so would you find the manager of fifth floor housekeeping and beat the snot out of them please?

Your dream is about life challenges, obstacles and surrendering.

The hotel is a comfort zone of familiarity. The wave is life and emotions you have churning inside you. The boats are other vessels which others on the same emotional wavelength are traveling in, facing a somewhat similar challenge but not the same as you. The stairs represent the actual footwork you need to do in your life to continue to rise above your emotions. The wall is the shield you protect yourself with from vulnerability to the outside world, but the Universe is telling you - it alone will not protect you.

Lesson:

The unharmed boats are examples. Meaning that, they rode the tide and the large hump in the water (whale presumably) and escaped fine. Your own struggle climbing and climbing and trying to get shelter with this 'wall' you speak of are not preventing you from feeling the fear of something or escaping the wrath of something that is making you struggle in an unsettled feeling.

If this is a work issue: confront co-workers who have gone through the same stress. If it is a home/family/romantic relationship issue, you need to face the wave head-on.

Bottom line.... you'll be okay. You did not die in the dream. There might have been pain when the stucco gave way, but you will be okay. You may not have the easy route of traveling through your life's challenges in this 'boat' like everyone else.

That may appear to be unfair, but honestly, count your blessings.

Why? You are still here and you will be okay.

You are different from everyone else. Maybe you may not ride the same exact tide, but then again, you are not meant to live the same life as the rest of the people out there.

Perhaps you are creative and struggle with not being able to have that outlet; or maybe you are a leader feeling stifled by upper management at work - whatever the case, you are meant to climb those stairs and climb and climb some more more than the others, because there is a much bigger plan for you in your future.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Your dream may me from the Lord Jesus Christ warning you of a tragic event to come. Huge waves can also represent a chaotic event and the stairway being blocked represents you looking for a way out but you will be blocked in. So, you will have to rely on God.

All I can say is if you dream that again embrace the horror and jump right into the wave. See where that dream takes you.

When your brain gives you something to be afraid of go after it, don't run. There's more adventure that way.
