You know when you watch a movie their's the two black bars on the bottom? Well my TV has those same black bars but going vertically up and down on both left and right sides. How do I change this? What would it be under in the TV settings?

Try the Aspect button on the remote.

However, there are stations that intentionally put the black bars in 4:3 content in digital transmissions. In that case, there is not much you can do.

Sounds like you have an HD widescreen 16:9 ratio screen and when you watch standard programming you have the black bars, these are called pillar box as opposed to letter box that you see when viewing a widescreen movie on a standard 4:3 ratio tv.Depending on the make of your tv there may be a button marked Format or Ratio that will allow you to change the display aspect ratio, also if you have cable or satellite there should also be a Format button on the remote for the HD receiver. At least there is on the DirecTv HD receivers that will change the display format.
