I think there are heavy metal Christian bands. If you are listening to something, just do some background research to find out if it's evil or not. Pray about the horror movies because there can be serious spiritual risks with those. Being a soldier for God won't make you abrasive or rude. When people ask about the hope you have in Christ, share it with them gently as Peter tells us in one of his epistles. When people ask you if you want to do something that's "of the world" you can just politely decline. People will understand, and if they don't, blessed are you for being persecuted for doing what is right. I don't think not being friends with the world means you must be a monk with no desires other than God, because God gave you those desires. Just don't do anything sinful. God bless.

My husband...that is the most patient man in the Universe...

I was brought up on "Anne of Green Gables" and I believe my friends I grew up with, can all tell you why,,everything is life or death but I do well in a crisis. It is just the little things that get to me....like being out of plain yogurt,,,now why on Earth would a grocery store run out of plain yogurt....or Hershey's Cocoa?....oh yeah, that happened!
