Sorry to have to be the one to tell you and force you to do a bit of research to verify the answer I’m about to give you but you should always check the claims of others.
There were no 10 Commandments per se.
When the writers were constructing the bible someone, obviously someone with a modicum of education, decided that a revised version of the laws of Hammurabi, written around 1900 years before the final version of what is now the Torah, should be included and attributed to God having given them to Moses, possibly to add credence to the Moses construct.
You will notice the absence of honesty and literary character in the bible when the original work was not even mentioned. Disgusting, really. If you are gonna copy somebody’s original work and claim it to be someone else’s, you have no honesty and you are a plagiarizer and a thief.
