Might sound like a stupid question but I don't care. I've always wondered if they can pull you over for that and give you a ticket. I'd assume they would but I've never heard of any incidences of this. Maybe cause no one would be stupid enough to do this. But boy if I could, I'd be flippin off a lotta cops...

No it's not illegal, it's just stupid. If you flip off a cop you had better make sure you don't go 1 mph over the speed limit, you had better make sure you signal 100 feet before you turn, you better make sure you stop at the stop line at a red light etc... If you don't I guarantee you will get a ticket. Is that harassment? No, it's you being stupid.

When there old enough to roll down the windows, get a drink of water and yell ma when you coming back. The proposed Virginia law prohibits leaving children who are eight years old or younger unsupervised in motor vehicles by persons who are at least 14 years old. So a nine year old can be left or an 8 and 14 year old can be left. I was left in the car with my 5 brothers and we road in the back of pickups without seat belts and we use to go hunting and trapping alone at 8 and 9 years old. America's full of a bunch of do gooder wusses. That's why were in the crap were in in Iraq.

You're actually asking 2 questions.

Is it legal? Yes.

Can you get in trouble for it? Also yes.

Generally speaking, a cop can't arrest you just for that but he's liable to follow you around and remember your face, and if you don't follow all the laws like a Boy Scout he'll ticket you on anything that might stick. You might be able to argue that you're a victim of "selective enforcement" if a cop does that, but good luck proving it. I think you will find the link below helpful in this matter.

I don't think it's illegal here in Maryland, I asked a cop buddy of mine, he said he would find some reason to arrest or ticket anyone who did (and a previous poster is right, with almost everyone going over the speed limit and forgetting to signal, etc, it's pretty clear that they will be able to find some way to repay your kindness). So one day I caught him off guard when I pulled up beside he and flipped him off, he was dumbfounded. He laughed when he realized it was me, but the look on his face told me that it must not happen very often. The look on his face was as if he had just seen an escapee from a loony bin. I don't think it's a good idea to try it unless you are willing to go through a lot of hassle afterwards.

By the way, unless you are a sociopath, why would you want to randomly flip off people that are trying to keep everything from degenerating into chaos?

I dont think there is a law against it...I saw someone on the street do it just the other day after the cop gave him a ticket for parking in the fire lane

Well in the words of a cop in response to that very question at school: The question was: "Can you give a cop the finger?"
"You can....it isn't very smart, but you can. I guarentee you if you do, the cop WILL find SOME reason to pull you over."

in viginia the finger is considered a gesture, and pissing off a cop is not against the law, but beware because the guy you piss of may be the one that shows up to save your butt one day or be the one to arrest you. Don't make a bed you're not willing to sleep in.

Technically, legally, probably yes, but realistically: NO! They'll find a reason to get ya! Find a more sophisticated way to present your argument. Lawyers, for example, do practically the same thing but make boucoup bucks!

If they saw you and/or the dashcam in their patrol car taped you doing it...yes...you could get into a lot of trouble.

Whatever you may think of cops, keep it to yourself. Granted they do a lot of things that we don't like...but they are also out there to protect and serve.

You might want to kill one at some point...at another, you might be worshipping the ground they walk on.
