You shouldn't. Because a book says that it is true is by no means proof that it is.

Excuse me, but this is a re-run, but I only have one answer. No matter how the Bible is analyzed, it is flawed. Strictly discussing only the New Testament, translators had complete discretion over content. If a story wasn’t complete, multiple stories were woven together to form one book. Pieces were moved around and put together like a puzzle. When a turn of a phrase seemed to even slightly disagree with the Church, it was removed in its entirety.
We now know that multiple scrolls of material, intended to be included as part of the Bible, were carefully hidden instead. This was necessary to avoid destruction of both the authors, and the information.
Scripted Codices, have slowly been discovered. They’ve been carbon dated and authenticated by experts to prove they were written at the same time the Bible was written. Numerous experts believe these writings were intended to be part of the original Bible. However, it is also true to say that these compositions are still the cause of great debate.
The New Testament was written two centuries after The Christ was crucified. Before the Bible was let loose to commoners, these powerful people had just simply raped it.
When one controls the religion of a people, they then control those people. This is why it was so important to make sure the Bible only told the stories approved of by the King and his Church. It also explains the hiding of certain texts. If anything written even smacks of freedom for the common man, it must be destroyed. For if it was found that the King was not god, the King could loose his ability to control his kingdom. As the translators were loyal to the King, the Bible was edited very carefully indeed.
Speaking only of the New Testament, the Bible remains one of the very best set of life instructions known to man. There is only one, most important law. It is: To love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might, and to love thy neighbor as you love yourself. If this Law is followed to the letter, it isn’t possible to break even one of the old Ten Commandments.
When Jesus was born, all prophecies from the Old Testament were fulfilled. The Old Testament passed away with the first coming of the Christ. The Ten Commandments were no longer relevant. This Commandment was the only one needed in order to not sin, and live as God wants man to live.
You should only believe if your heart feels something is true. I will tell you eventually.
Blessed Be

That's a dumb way to prove it, and I'm a Christian.
You really can't "prove" that the Bible is true, not in the scientific sense. There are ways of proving that the Bible texts are reliable -- meaning that they have not been changed as much as some people claim they have, and also, that they are more reliable as historical documents than most documents which people accept as historical, because of the very large number of copies that still exist.
From that basis, assuming that the writers of the four Gospels really believed what they said and were not low-down dirty liars, you can choose whether or not to believe that what they wrote really happened the way they say it did. And there are reasons for believing those events really took place, apart from having supernatural faith.
Once you have decided that you believe the events in the Gospels actually happened, you may be convinced that Jesus was who he said he was. After all, he backed up his claims by miracles, and by rising from the dead.
Once you have reached that step, you can see from reading the New Testament that Jesus founded a Church, and told that Church to pass on what he taught them. He also gave the Church authority to teach and act in his name.
This same Church later on decided what books to include in the canon of the Scriptures, based on the teachings that had been passed down from Apostles to bishops, from generation to generation, within the Church. The Bible is the Church's book. It was written by the Church. Thus the saying, "The Church didn't come from the Bible, the Bible came from the Church." It is faith in this Church, based on your faith in Jesus, which tells you that the Bible is true.
Other than that, there is no other way to know, except by personal "feelings" which you feel sure are "telling" you that it's true, which we would probably agree is not a reliable method.

They can't. People try because they don't understand, outside of the mechanics. Don't blame them. They are learning and growing, just like any child. There's nothing wrong with it, just that they are growing.
There truly are few that could offer you, or anyone else, absolute proof. The problem with that, is that they are Jesus followers, doing exactly as Jesus would do. Jesus never climbed down anybody's throat. They came to Him.
Not that I'm asking anyone to follow my instructions, ony to explain something a little better.......
It's the Holy Spirit that draws you to listen and learn, not us the Christian. We can't bend your ear, no matter how hard we try.
BUT...we stand ready in all seasons, to give the help asked for. When the Holy Spirit starts pulling at your heart, you find a new insatiable hunger to know the truth and you also become open to the truth. Then, when you hear truth, you know it and it comes into you.
Jesus told us to go out into the world to spread the gospel. The fact is, we've done just that throughout history. I'd say, the job was done well, because even you know about it. Everyone has heard it. That was our command and we have not been lazy.
But proving it to you? Not on the list. That's the job of the Holy Spirit, not ours. We can pray for those who have yet to come to the truth but the fact is, if the Holy Spirit does not call them, there's nothing we can do about it and we are not to mourn over it.
Now get this. I don't know of one single person who has not heard the call. That doesn't mean they come. In fact, most run the other way. Is that my fault? If not even the Holy Spirit can bring you, does that mean I can? Not even Jesus took that attitude. He taught and others followed and listened.....or not. Plain and simple.
You want to know the truth? Seek it. You want to get to know God? Ask.

First the prophesies, the Bible is full of them, written hundreds of years before the events occurred. Psalms 22, predicted how Jesus would die.
Second, archeology, which has never proven any part of the Bible false.
Third, science, when the Bible speaks of scientific things it is always correct. When it appears that science and Bible disagree, wait a while and you'll see that the Bible was right.
This has occurred many times in the past 500 years.
For example, the Bible said in Isaiah 40:22 that the earth is round, 500 years before the Greeks proved it.

Because most of them have been trained all their lives to "prove" everything with the Bible -- and don't even think about how circular and illogical to "prove" the Bible with itself. But of course, its simply not "proof" in any sense.
Also, some have developed a strategy -- cite the Bible as "proof," cite the Bible as proof of itself -- and when someone notes the numerous contradiction, failed prophesies, and plain errors (all real) in the Bible they want a citation. Of course, most people who don't believe don't know the Bible (just as most Christians can't cite the Koran, Tao Te Ching, or Bhagad Gita) having had no reason to study. This is then used to imply the unbeliever is being difficult and badger them into Bible study -- seriously, some religious leaders have worked this into a full-out strategy and published in books and pamphlets.
If you don't believe me, God told me this, "BELIEVE IT!!!" ;P

Well, look for other sources then. The Dead Sea Scrolls, The Apocryphal books. While they are not the actual Bible, they do relate to and discuss things the Bible discusses. Also, the Kuran(sp) discusses some of the same things as well, such as Adam and Eve and Jesus.
The Bible is not the ONLY source of proof of things from this time frame discussed IN the Bible, but it is the one that is absolute truth. Sometimes it's literal, sometimes it's not.
I would have a hard time believing one and only one Book describing my entire world as well, I would like other things to point my direction as well.
The dead sea scrolls are still being recovered btw from last I heard.

The scriptures state that "Signs shall follow the believers". If you read and understand the scriptures and then put them to practice... you will find out for yourself they are true. You won't be able to share that proof with others... but you will know for yourself. It is like picking up a math book and reading 2+2=4 and then you count out 2 apples and add them to 2 apples and prove that the total equals 4. Then you know the math book was true. The Bible works much the same way... only much more deeper... you will have to seek out the true in faith believing and with all your heart.
I did... and received far more than I expected or imagined possible.

well u can't prove it 100% but there are a lot of clues.
the Bible has prophecies written thousand of years ago that are being full filed or already have been.
Also they have found Mt. Sinai where Moses wrote the ten commandments plus they have also found Noah's Ark which is from the bible so there are some way's to prove it's true.

When someone gives verses to prove a point, it always helps that both parties are Bible believers.
May I recommend a Bible study. This Bible study is not the typical Bible study because it presents many facts about the Bible.

Go to the first study guide. It should answer your questions without many Bible verses.

We don't have to prove the bible is true. History and fulfilled prophecy prove it. The world and it's inhabitants prove it. The wind, fire and rain, prove it. Now whether you believe it or not is a whole other story. But I can guarantee you this Christian will not knock herself out dealing with some one whose main concern is mocking Christ. Get your kicks somewhere else.
