It's a misdemeanor, under Title 8 of the US Code.

At least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry.

I heard we used to give them $20.00, a free meal and a ride back to Mexico.

I think they stopped giving them the money because some where making it a business of crossing the border and getting caught.

Work 6 days, get $120.00. Not a bad week for Mexican citizen.

There really doesn't seem to be one. If there is federal government thinks that the state should enforce it while the state thinks that federal gov should enforce it.

yes we pay for their insurance, schools and welfare in some states and in others even college!
