I think Algore's motive is the same as anyone else who is pushing the global warming issue.
There's a lot of money in global warming.
Being green is very green!

I believe global warming is in progress. It has warmed and cooled many times. I am not yet convinced man can do much about it. I am willing to conserve fossil fuel because we need to get off foreign oil anyway, and any reduction in pollution is a good thing.
Gore is probably sincere, but he is a politician, not a scientist. Most manmade warming advocates are sincere. It is just sad that so many people don't research beyond what Al and the advocate group of scientists say and at least study the other side of the argument. Groups of scientists have been wrong before.

Forget about Al Gore. He (and his personal life) have nothing to do with the reality of global warming.
This is science and what counts is the data.
"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”
Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command
Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:
http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/home_page/329.php?nid=&id=&pnt=329&lb=hmpg1
And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686 and:
"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."
Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

Al Gore has been involved in environmental causes since forever.
What I don't understand is why are people so quick to dismiss something that'll only help the planet? I will gladly ignore the global warming issue when someone gives me scientific proof that recycling, reducing emissions and planting trees is bad for us.

SINCERE??? LMFAO!!!
Algore is a Liberal Politician. That's about as insincere as it gets. All that man is looking for is MONEY and POWER. And he doesn't care how he gets it.
As to Global Warming, our actions are irrelevant to it. HOWEVER, recycling, conservation, and developing renewable resources are all intelligent actions to be taken on economic grounds. It's stupid to try to use fear to advance these. People who cry 'wolf' end up getting eaten. Fearmongers WILL suffer for their lies.

I think he is probably sincere and trying to do something about a problem he believes is real but I also think he has some psychological problems. In addition, he got low grades in science and I think his knowledge hasn't improved much since then.
