Yes.

Because he's a smart guy who likes to hear from people he thinks are smarter than he is. He'll be convinced of the seriousness of the problem, and he's a guy who will take action.

Don't expect him to make a big deal of it in the campaign. It won't get him many votes he wouldn't get otherwise.

And he's a very smart guy.

I'm more worried about Clinton. Too tied to major commercial interests. Richardson might be the best on this issue, but is a real longshot.

Compared to the other Democratic presidential candidates, Obama is rather poor regarding global warming and the environment in general. This is mostly because he's been a follower rather than a leader on environmental issues, and because as a Senator from a big coal producing state, until quite recently Obama was pretty pro-coal.

I rank the Democratic candidates positions on the environment as follows:

1. Edwards
2. Richardson
3. Gravel
4. Kucinich
---------------
5. Dodd
6. Clinton
7. Biden
8. Obama

Edwards is the best, but the top 4 are all pretty close, as are the bottom 4. And of course all Republicans are worse than all Democrats. You can read details about each nominee's environmental plans as well as interviews at the link below.

Basically any of the Democratic nominees will work toward reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, but the top 4 I listed will do more than the bottom 4.

I'm sure you've bought your Al Gore certified Global Warming footprint reducing credits so you can pollute, but know that someone else is taking up the slack.

No President will work to reduce "Global Warming" They will pass more laws to raise our taxes and to take more control over our lives, but they will not do anything to "fix" global warming.

And why should they? This is a cash cow for politicians. As long as "global warming" is a problem, the politicians will tax us more and take more control over our lives.

Politicians never fix problems, they just draw them out for as long as possible.

He will probably do whatever will get votes, or increase his favorability. He is a politician.
