Has anyone given you any drugs for anxiety, depression, or sleep (or other)? I ask because a side effect of some drugs can be derealization/depersonalization. Or if you are coming off a drug, this can also be a side effect.
If you are not taking or coming off a drug, then yes, anxiety is probably your problem. I'm confused as to why the doctors and therapists could not help you. But I will tell you this: the reason it continues to be so bad and the reason it's getting worse is because you are paying attention to it. This is what you need to do: Keep yourself as busy as possibe. When you ride in a car or bus, have something to do. Read a book, have a conversation, draw, do SOMETHING. If you don't have to spend time alone, don't. If you are alone, work on the computer, talk on the phone, do homework, do something. Keep yourself BUSY. Keep your mind off the problem you're having. Right now your mind is getting the best of you, and the only way to stop it is to divert your attention. Exercising will really help you too because it will release some of the adrenalin or anxiety. See if you're well enough to go out for an afterschool sport, or work on learning an instrument or acting in the school play. Do something you like. Help other people if it makes you feel good. Don't get yourself involved in an activity that further stresses you out. Also, be SURE to get enough rest. If you don't, it can add to the feeling of depersonalization/derealization. Do not let outer circumstances dictate how you feel. YOU decide how YOU will feel. In other words, don't let your reactions to things get out of control. Try to remain calm and if you feel like getting an intense reaction to something, downplay it. Phrase it in your mind so that it's not such a big deal as before. If you are thinking, Wow, that really angers me! instead think, I find that annoying. There is a difference between angry and annoyed that will instantly calm you down. You will need a little practice but it WILL click. It is best to nip this in the bud now, so that you will not have to deal with it in the future!

De-realization/depersonalization are basically feelings of being apart from yourself and your surroundings. You have also expressed feelings of anxiety and inability to concentrate. You did not say how long you have been experiencing these feelings. If you have been feeling like this for the last six months to a year, it is quite likely, given your age, that you are experiencing the start of puberty. These strange feelings are actually quite common for people your age and usually go away as you get older. The next time you feel like this try focusing on your surroundings and remember to tell yourself that these feelings will pass, Find someone that you trust and can talk to about how you feel. Talking helps.
