I've had it done 2 times, had to take it out in pregnancy, it didn't hurt really just a nip,they clamp it first then pierce, the needle is quite long but not too bad, takes less than a minute for the actual piercing, just make sure the shop is clean and hygienic and has proper equipment etc
if you are that scared though maybe watch someone else get theirs done first, just to help.

I had mine done, and it barely hurt at all. They used a little device that put the ring in at the same time. I was too quick to have a chance to hurt. It was quicker than getting a shot. Somebody is just trying to scare you. The healing process was easy, too. It was a bit sore for a few weeks, but it was entirely healed inside of 3 months. You do have to turn it, and keep it cleaned and follow the after care instructions they give you. And it's also helpful to avoid tight waistbands until it's completely healed. But, you really don't need to be afraid. I'm sure it will be just fine.

i've done it myself before and it didnt hurt going in at all. its like the following night its sore and burning a little. i dont advise you do it yourself though. it got infected and my mom found out.

i watched my old teacher get it done and the needle's not really that long. i'd say the length of my pinkey and about the size of pencil lead around. they usually use 14 g unless you want smaller. its a lot easier to find 14s.

it doesnt take that long. most of the time youre there is just prep and paperwork. it only takes like 5 minutes to pierce and put the barbell in.

i dont think u should do it but thats just my opinion i know the neddle is about 2 or 3 inches and it hurts like crud for 1 or 2 days and it looks uncomfterble too my friend got hers done and it got infected 3 times just to let you know god luck with it and your not a wuss for being scared im scared of that stuff too

The needle is long but its over in about a second you wont even notice it i have my belly button done in 2 places its fine and they will numb the area good luck!! =]

the needle is preety big it dosent take but 5 seconds and it is really only sore for like on day. so dont be scared i got my done but it did not hurt half as bad as my nose ring.

From personaly experince, no it doesn't hurt.
My mom, my friends, and me all have them and none of us experienced any paint.

It'll be over before you know it.

The needle, on the other hand is kind of large. I would suggest just closing your eyes and holding a friend's hand so you don't have to see it. It's a standard 14 gauge body peircing needle.

Large thick gage needle, I got it done and its not bad, it was just sore for about a day. Don't stress it, my nose hurt worse than the belly!
