I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Most the population does not understand the concept of dating though. Dating is where you become friends, get to know the person, see if you would want to ever have a meaningful relationship with the person. After "going out" a few time you decide you don't want to persue a romantic relationship, you communcate that to your friend and you enjoy an awesome friendship. The end :)

There is nothing wrong with being friends first. My bf was my bff for about 2yrs before we hooked up. We were backwards though, we started out sex buddie's that lasted about 4yrs on and off, then we entered relationships with other people, shared our pain about those relationships with each other, then grew to have a relationship with each other. It was totally unexpected but we have been together for almost 5yrs now. I know tmi, sorry :)

Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

In fact, it's better to be friends first. If you can't even be friends with someone, how can you possibly be lovers?? You HAVE to be able to have friendship to make it work.

There's nothing worse than being with a person you have nothing in common with and that you wouldn't want to be friends with if you weren't lovers. It just doesn't work.

If you don't genuinely like someone, you can't love them no matter how hard you try!

there is nothing wrong with being friends first. However comma if you stay in the friend zone too long you might loose interest in that person as a potential partner. or you might scare the guy off becasue he thinks you just want to be friends.

guys are afraid that if they dont make there move to go out with a girl soon, then the girl might think of them as just a friend, and also by the time they do get to be friends the girl might already have a boyfriend.

Lol. The only real problem is if you two get in deep and then break up, there could be major wars. Like 'his' friends who are also 'your' friends trying to pick sides or back out, and maybe causing friction in your group.

there is no problem being friends with someone before you go out,
the problem is that you don't want to be too close of friends because after the relationship that friendship will be over.

Go for it. I was friends with my husband for years before I realized he is interested. He is very shy with the ladies (and I was secretly interested with him too). Then of course I jumped into a relationship with both feet!
These are the best of the best relationships.

Good luck in life!

It's good to get to know them before you date, makes your more comfortable and you can trust them better. Well, you'd be surprised that people actually DO date their enemies, weird, but true.
