Christians believe that if you do not get accepted into heaven, the only other place is hell. There is no third option.

Revelation 14:3 says that 144,000 will go to heaven - "And they are singing as if a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth."
The rest who are fathfull will be resurrected back to life. John 5:28, 29 - "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment".
They will live on earth and earth will be a paradise. Psalms 37:11 - "But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace"

the "middle" ground that you speak of is called purgatory, a place or state of punishment where according to Roman Catholic doctrine the souls of those who die in God's grace may make up for past sins and so become fit for heaven. In other words in means that when you die you are stuck between life and death and you can be referred to as ghosts or spirits. I don't believe in ghosts therefore I don't believe in purgatory. I have had otherwordly experiences with unexplained forces but I don't believe they are ghosts but demons impersonating the living. I believe there is only a Heaven and Hell and no in between.

If I don't get into heaven, I will call Avis Rent A Star and camp out on the star closest to the pearly gates. That would be a fine "middle ground" for me. Close enough to glimpse angels in flight and catch a bit of the 24/7 Hosannas. Far enough away that I don't have to participate, and my cats can live with me too!

Nobody really knows what heaven or hell is like. Some mystics have reported a revelation of heaven. Heaven and hell are not a place. They are a state of experience. Mark Twain commented that heaven is by favor. If it were by merit, you would stay out, and your dog would go in.

Let's start by defining Heaven and Hell. Heaven is spending eternity with God, therefore, it is filled with everything that comes from God: light, warmth, comfort, friendship, love, etc. If you do not choose to spend your eternity with God, then the only other option is to spend your eternity away from God. (Sorry, no weekend visitation rights.) That is what Hell is: eternity away from God. Since Heaven is filled with all the good things, Hell is filled with all the leftovers: darkness, agony, despair, lonliness, etc.

My beliefs are that there are a Heaven and a Hell. There is no holding place or anything else. If anything can be considered a "holding ground", it's earth.

There is no middle ground. Either you go to heaven or you go to hell. But hell is not an eternal burning fire that people have come to believe. That is just to scare people.

Well personally I do believe some spirits are stuck on Earth, only because 1. they're here to do something (they're from Heaven) or 2. This would be part of their Hell.
So it's really contradictory.

i dont understand why is heaven for christians and hell for anyone else, let´s say heaven is just like a bar for surfers, or for people who like a specific kind of music...all people who like/believe/love jesus and god will go to heaven and the rest will go to other heavens that suit their tastes and everyone happy.
