I am an MD. As far as I know, there are three main ways to boost HDL:
1)Exercise is considered the best way.
2)Monounsaturated fats such as those found in olive oil, canola oil, fish and fish oil, avacados, and a few others that I can't remember right now.
3)Alcohol in moderation (no fooling) has been shown to boost HDL
