You don't see a fine tuned, tailor made, universe? This is called the “anthropic principle” (From the Greek word Anthropos—man). This principle is that the universe in general, and our solar system in particular, appears to have been specially designed for human existence.
Listen to what some scientists have said:
-Murphy and Ellis, “The symmetries and delicate balances we observe in the universe require an extraordinary coherence of conditions and cooperation of laws and effects, suggesting that in some sense they have been purposely designed. That is, they give evidence of intention, realized both in the setting of the law of physics and in the choice of boundary conditions for the universe.”
-F.J. Dyson, “As we look out into the universe and identify the many accidents of physics and astronomy that have worked together to our benefit, it almost seems as if the universe must in some sense have known we were coming.”
-And I like what Philip Ball said, “Our Universe is so unlikely that we must be missing something.”
And look at what we have with this earth in our solar system:
-The right kind of galaxy.
-The right place in the galaxy.
-The right kind of star.
-The right distance from that star.
-The right sized planet.
-The right spin of the planet.
-The proper magnetic field.
-The high composition of carbon.
-The high water content.
-The nitrogen and oxygen atmosphere.
-The size and distance of our moon.
And on and on. The thing you have to realize is, any slight variation in any of these would make the earth uninhabitable as we know it. Boy, we sure are lucky, aren’t we?
I don't compare a TV with the world, but I do compare a computer with the human brain. It makes the complex computer look like a child’s toy in comparison to complexity. If you were walking along a deserted Island and just so happen to come across a computer, the first thing you would think is, “Look what nature made,” right? Is it logical to believe that the brain designed the computer, but the brain is a product of time and chance?

Probably because TV is the true god of today (the source of information, morality, life drama to add meaning in one's own empty life, etc.), and they're just going by what they know.
If anything, the technology arguments are usually better examples of evolution than creationism. My television set wasn't built from a blue print somebody just made up off the top of his head. It was slight modification over a model the same company put out the year before, and that one was modeled after an earlier TV model, which was modeled after an even earlier one, etc. Even then, the first manufactured television was based off existing technology for video imagery, radio wave study and radio building, etc. My plasma TV, with its RCA jacks, remote control and everything else, bears little resemblance to the wood-enclosed, black & white, "bunny ear"-antennaed, oval-tube models that my grandparents first bought. But you can still trace the lineage.

I don't know about buildings or paintings, but perhaps they talk about TV's because they see the world through a TV.
Which is tuned to either Fox News or the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

Because they can persuade themselves that this is a good argument, so it makes them feel good about their opinion being in contradiction to thousands of highly qualified scientists, millions of scientific discoveries and reality in general.
The fact that TVs, 747s, houses, etc. are not self replicating and so totally incapable of evolving is irrelevant to them. They just want to feel secure in their idiocy.

You don't think sunsets, mountains, flowers, rainbows, forests, rivers, starry nights, and meadows are beautiful?
You don't see design in DNA? Spiderwebs? The human body? Plant cells (which were supposedly evolved first)?
