Jews have lived interior the territories of at present's Iran for over 2,seven hundred years, because of the fact the 1st Jewish diaspora while Shalmaneser V conquered the (Northern) Kingdom of Israel (722 BCE) and despatched the Israelites into captivity at Khorasan. Hmmmm.... Maybe Jews feel safer in Iran, given that the Iranian president repeatedly vows to 'wipe Israel off the map'.....!

Iran is, in fact, the only Arab state that hasn't kicked out its' Jewish community. In all other Islamic countries, the Jews were expelled; in Egypt and Iraq, for instance, there were lively Jewish communities, but not any longer.

There are not that many Jews still living in Iran, however; far less than there were originally. I imagine they choose to stay there because it's what they know, and all their family members are there.

I wonder what you would say if you had a scimitar at your throat.

The Jews that remain in Iran can't leave. The can't say they wanna leave without fear of being tossed into prison. If they practice or teach Judaism they can be tossed in prison. If they make or receive too many calls to Israel or the US, they are accused of spying and tossed into prison.

Sounds like Iran is the last bastion of freedom.
