i'm new to christianity. i was an agnostic until about a year ago, so as much as i hate to admit it, once in a while that comes back and bites me on the behind. i found a pretty good remedy for this in the scripture though. ''let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.'' proverbs 3:3. it says to write your faith(fulness) on your heart. so how do you do that? the last phrase in psalm 45:1 says ''my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.'' we know that faith comes through hearing, but looking at these two verses together also tells us that it's beneficial to confess your faith aloud to yourself. there's so much power in your own spoken word... that's mentioned time after time after time throughout the bible, but for some reason, it's often overlooked. anyway, that helps me a lot when i'm feeling wishy washy about my faith. i seriously think that could be part of the reason God revealed liturgy to us- it's a practical way to keep our faith strong, among other things- so sing a song about how much you love God, and reassure yourself, ESPECIALLY if you don't feel like it. sing a few inspirational psalms in plainsong. you might feel silly at first, but it's not like you have to do it when other people are there. i hope this helps.

All men have doubts. Christians are not exempt. When doubt arise you go find the answer to deal with that doubt.

Do you doubt the existence of gravity? Do you doubt the sunrise tomorrow? Of course not.

Doubt is a recognition that your belief is not based on anything significant. The rational response to doubt is to do research to try to answer your questions.

No, I don't, and I'll tell you why. I have been in bible study with a very good bible teaching church for ten years now. I have seen the things I have read and learned and studied proven true over and over again. I do not doubt the word of God.

If you do, perhaps a good bible study would help you. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God".

Do what King David did in the Psalms: look back at all that God has done for us in the past whether thousands of years or a couple of days ago.

He has not left Himself without a witness.

Thomas doubted and he lived with Jesus and witnessed Jesus. Doubt is a part of growing in Christ. You mustn't let it shake you or discourage you.

I remember the simple pray
'I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!'
found in Mark 9:24

Well, I think some of them get on Yahoo Answers and work themselves up into a bit of a religious frenzy. At least, that's what it seems like with some of the posts I've seen.

Probably by the time all the theology induced adrenalin leaves their system they'll have gotten past their crisis of faith.

I take a moment and thank God for all that I have and all that He's given me. I also think about why the doubts appear and how I can prevent them from appearing again.

I prayed and looked for evidence to support what's right (bible, historical evidence). God always led me to find what I was looking for - the truth.

That's what I used to do, I don't really doubt anymore.
