Surely there can be no grey areas here can there? Either there were religions before it that had striking similarities, such as the 25th Dec birth date and virgin birth etc etc or there wasn't?

Of course christianity is a copy of older religions...

Do a google search on religion and find out Yourself.

Go beyond religion and DO this:

Create Your Relationship with Our Creator and have UnConditional Love and Peace in Your Life.

Even if there are similarities it makes no difference. In fact, I would be a little surprised if there weren't similarities. The fact is that God put in us a natural desire for Him, so if people come up with similar ideas it shouldn't surprise us.

The idea that Christianity stole from earlier religions is nothing more than a logical fallacy - post hoc ergo proper hoc. See article below.

Yes most Christian holidays have taken dates from pagan holidays. There have been virgin births in other religions, but most of those religion are considered mythology by Christians. A bit ironic, isn't it?

Look up the story of Mithra and find out for yourself... also, knowing that christmas was stolen from celebrations of the winter solstice and that easter was the life giving, coming of spring celebration in many pagan cultures helps give merit to that arguement.

There are similarities, yes. That doesn't make it a copy, nor does it make it right or wrong.

If you are basing your views on the Zeitgeist movie, please take a note from their own website:
"That being said, It is my hope that people will not take what is said in the film as the truth, but find out for themselves, for truth is not told, it is realized."
