I do not think I would eat pasta, or anything with any spice in it for three or four days.
After that you can try it and see how your throat feels, and go from there.

Hello:
After you get your tonsils out,you will be put on a diet of soft foods such as:
Pudding
Chocolate or Vanilla Shakes, usually eaten with a spoon not through a straw as this could really hurt your throat.
Jello
Ice Cream
Mashed Potatoes
Applesauce
Yogurt
Popsicles
Basically this strict diet is to help you throat heal and maybe a few days after your surgery, your doctor will allow you to have some chicken noodle soup which would be soothing on your throat too! I would stay away from pasta until your doctor tells you that it is okay to eat it,because as silly as this may sound, you may choke on pasta because your throat will still be very sore and tender!
I hope that your surgery goes well and I am sending some ((Good Luck and Best Wishes Hugs))) ;-)

The first couple of days I would stick with Popsicles and jello etc. soft foods... but after that you can eat anything that doesn't hurt going down. I would over cook the pasta so it won't stick in your throat. My husband had his out last year and lived on Jello, ice cream, pudding, mashed potatoes and gravy, milk shakes, and yes, over cooked pasta with butter on it... good luck to you!

When I had mine out age 17 I could eat or drink nothing! The pain was excrutiatig and any flavour at all hurt like hell for days! Ice water was great!
On the upside, it was the best operation I ever had, not had a sore throat since.
Good luck and take some good pain relief

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.
Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

You might get by with pasta with alfredo sauce, but stay away from tomatoes due to the acids. Also no juices for the same reason. Mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs or cheese omelet, applesauce and oatmeal are the items that come to the top of my head.

The first 23 hours, stick with water, juice, soda, popsicles, gelatin, cool soup, ice cream, milkshakes and Gatorade. Nothing HOT, though. It will hurt your throat.
The second day, gradually add soft foods such as pudding, mashed potatoes, apple sauce and cottage cheese. Do not eat hot or spicy foods.
The third day gradually, add normal foods you can eat comfortably.
Don't eat hot or rough foods such as raw vegetables, potato chips, dry toast or crackers until two weeks after surgery.

What can my child eat and drink after surgery?
For the first day or two after surgery you should offer cool liquids such as apple juice, water, Popsicles®, Jell-O®, and pop that has lost its fizz. You may also offer soft foods such as ice cream, milk shakes, smooth yogurt, and pudding.
As your child starts to feel better you can add other foods that your child wants such as applesauce, cooked cereal, fruits, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, and pasta. Be sure your child is drinking plenty of fluids.
You should avoid foods that are crunchy or have hard edges such as corn chips, pretzels, and popcorn. Also avoid foods that are very hot in temperature or spicy hot.
