i think we need to be baptised in the spirit but that comes later,i agree with you religion and tradition has only caused division among Gods people,a house divided against itself will not stand//Jesus never claimed a religion...to carnal(man-made)

God HATES religion! He WANTS a freewill choice from YOU for A RELATIONSHIP with Him. He gave us a connection, a key, a living advocate; His Son, Jesus the Christ. Walk right in, sit right down and have a talk with Him. He DOES want us to meet together for fellowship with other believers for encouragement and strength and help and to praise and worship Him. Choose the group that best suits YOU. All who worship the Father Jehovah, through Jesus Christ as the ONLY true God, He accepts.
Yes, He loves the entire world but His love doesn't SAVE you or take you to heaven. God love the world and made a way for us to come to Him.., and our responses to Him and His provision (death, burial, resurrection and defeat of death, hell and the grave) for us IS what determines our love for Him. He said, "why do you call me LORD and don't do what I say?". He's proved Himself and salvation isn't automatic. It's for the freewill choice of each individual and then walking out the lifestyle of surrendering more and more of my own will and ways. Let go and let God! Believeing and accepting Jesus as Christ and Lord MAKES YOU A CHRISTIAN.

If you have to accept Christ to get into Heaven, then don't you have to be a Christian?
I don't see how a Jew who doesn't believe that Jesus Christ was the Messiah would be able to accept that Jesus died for our sins.
I also don't see how a Buddhist could believe that. Or a Pagan. Or a Zoroastrian. Or a Scientologist. Or a Hindu. Or a shinto. Or a Sikh. Do you get where I'm going with this?

It's funny that you ask and answer your own question! I think that the correct religion is the one YOU believe in. If that sounds like relativism, so be it. Since it all boils down to faith, then it logically follows that this is a subjective issue. But to be technically accurate, a follower of Jesus would, by definition, be a Christ-ian. It still comes down to the way in which you "follow" Him. That is why there are so many Christian denominations. Hope that helps a little.

Actually God never said anything about accepting Jesus into my heart or that He died on a cross for my sins. What He said was that I am saved by grace throught faith as a gift from Him. Not the same thing at all.

According to the Bible, TRUE religion, undefiled is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the homeless, meet the needs of orphans and widows, and visit people in the hospital and in prison. This doesn't get us to heaven, it just makes life on this earth a lot easier.
As far as going to heaven, when you do what you mentioned, that is to say, when you accept Jesus in your heart and believe that He died for your sins on the cross, that is called being born again. You becomer a follower of Jesus, a disciple, etc.
But sometime during the early church, non-believers started mocking them by calling them "Christians" as a mockery, and they took it as a badge of honor and the name just kind of stuck.
Now-a-days, anybody who puts their faith in Jesus as you mentioned, is referred to as a Christian. Unfortunately, there are many who go to church, but have never been born again, and thus giving a bad name to Christianity.
But ultimately, it is - by Biblical (not human) definition - that only Christians go to heaven, because anybody who does what you said automatically becomes a Christian. In Africa, they DO make a distinction between a "Christian" and a "Born Again" because of the negative publicity I already mentioned about being a Christian.
Call it what you want, but only those born again will enter heaven.

Good answer!! Most of these people are pro religion. They are more knowledgeable in their religious doctrine than what the Bible says.
Like I've sad before... if you use a twenty ounce bottle of water to represent all the people born from Adam and eve till Christ returns and filled the cap, the filled cap are the people going to Heaven and the rest are hell bound.

... the problem with me doing that is that I don't believe that Jesus was anything more than a man with a few good ideas. Why can't people just pay attention to the good ideas instead of blowing him way out of proportion?
But you are right about one thing. There's no one correct religion. We all most go out and find what religion (or lack thereof in atheism's case) fits us best, regardless of what others say. You can't force someone to believe something if it doesn't feel right to them.

1st of all, it seems 2 me that you answered your own question with your own answer...
2nd, if you believe in God and Jesus (and that God inspired the Scriptures to be written), the right religion is the 1 that most closely follows the teachings in the scriptures.
Who could that be???

Saint Ignatius (35-107), the second Bishop of Antioch wrote a letter to the Smyrneans in 107 A.D..
In this letter is recorded the first known use of the words "Catholic Church"...
Paragraph #8
"You must all follow the lead of the bishop, as Jesus Christ followed that of the Father; follow the presbytery as you would the Apostles; reverence the deacons as you would God's commandment. Let no one do anything touching the Church, apart from the bishop. Let that celebration of the Eucharist be considered valid which is held under the bishop or anyone to whom he has committed it. Where the bishop appears, there let the people be, just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. It is not permitted without authorization from the bishop either to baptize or to hold an agape; but whatever he approves is also pleasing to God. Thus everything you do will be proof against danger and valid."
