I would like to know what did you use to study??

Never taken it but keep in mind that there always seems to be hiring freezes, lay-offs and few raises when it comes to the state. I don't live very from from the Joliet Crime lab and didn't realize they were hiring.

Depends on what area you are interested in. They will train you but having courses or hours in chemistry will be a help. If you wanted to be a crime scene investigator, there are few of those jobs open and they usually go to someone that is in the State Police as an officer that transferred over to the lab.

I wish you luck in your field. With the petty squabbles in our State Government and lawsuit by the Gov., hard telling if there will be any openings. Maybe a better chance downstate.
