I want them there because i don't want the consequence of not having them there.
Pulling our troops out of Iraq would be a monumental blunder that would have repercussions far beyond Iraq /middle east and most likely the whole world. It probably seems rather rash of me to invoke such dire warnings, but! i feel that the whole reason behind the war in Iraq is oil!. I'm not going on about Iraqi oil, what I'm suggesting is the control of the gulf Arabian and all the oil that flows threw it which in turn oils the wheels of world wide industry!.
I cannot imagine the damage that would be caused should the free flow of oil from the Arab states be impeded or even worst stopped all together. Sadism Hussein was well on his way to being a regional super power with ambitions on controlling the flow of oil , This is why he had to go!,.
The British troops that are currently in Iraq are doing a very difficult job. They are fighting a determined insurgent group who's aim is turn Iraq into some sort of Islamic state, which again if unchecked will go on to threaten the peace and stability of the whole region. This can not be allowed to happen and no matter what cost the coalition forces should stay and fight until they finish the job.
Whishy washy politicians and military leaders should stop messing about with troop numbers, stop thinking that there is no hope and should allow the troops all the tools and equipment they need to do the job also media pundits journalists should stop making out that the war is wrong decrying every death has though its the end of the world.
The real end of the world will come if oil stops flowing .. then lets see what they write.

Anyone living there who wants to live in peace with freedom and democracy wants us to stay there until the evil forces among them are defeated. Certainly the politically correct types will always loathe the military and fail to support them in doing what is needed. Armies are meant to kill people and break things, but the Left can't have that, someone might be offended. Therefore the Left loves to put the military into situations where they will be killed and not allowed to strike back. The Left has declared defeat, has based their hopes of political success on defeat, they cannot allow a victory, because it would destroy their bid for political power.
Are you one of the defeatists? A "peace at any price" type. That has been tried before and it failed miserably and at enormous cost.. "Peace in our time" is rubbish. The way to peace is to kill people and break things until those who want to attack you give up.
Americans do not regard the Brits as useless, they regard Parliament as useless politicians. They know how limited the Brit military is and take that into account, letting them operate in the more peaceful areas.
All the troops of the various nations are wanted by the majority of the people of both Iraq and Afghanistan..
suessgirl - accidents happen in combat, every army in every battle since there were armies lose some men to "friendly fire", their own troops mistakenly attacking their own troops. British soldiers have mistakenly killed American soldiers too. Sorry about that, now let's get on with the war and win it.

we're not socialists. believe it or not, government is right-wing - just look at the huge gap between lower and upper classes. if we were socialists everyone would be at least lower-middle class.
anyhoo..
the only reason we're undermanned is coz, well lets face it, who actually wants to join the army? plus, we are a pretty small country after all. underequipped coz the damn government has spent way too much money just getting the troops over there. at the end of all that, there isn't enough money to give them a good wage.
war sucks

Since when was Tony B. Liar a "Socialist"?
If he was then maybe there wouldn't be families living below the poverty line in this country whilst the rich and greedy get richer and greedier.

I don't know, I would like them to come back. I think Brown doesn't want to because he doesn't want to admit his government was wrong. I mean they're going to have to come back sometime and this job will never be finished.

Gosh. George Bush is a socialist. I hadn't realised that.
Tony Blair sent British troops in because his mate George wanted them. We hadn't realised he meant for target practice. It's time they came home.

not me, it's america's war, let them fight it. besides, after the americans killed some of our men, we should be retalliating on america, if i was in charge i'd 'accedently' let a 'friendly' bomb go off over america and say it was an accedent.
