I have been so backslidden I thought God had left me. I was sure I was doomed. One wise Christian asked me if I felt bad. I answered that I wished I were dead, but now I was afraid of death. She smiled and asked me why the enemy would not have let me enjoy the sin for a season, rather than torment me with the loss of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. She ministered to me words of life. He had never left me, I had grieved Him, but He was there with open arms.

I've never lost the Holy Ghost, but I have drowned Him out more than a few times with booze and other stuff. Yes, this was AFTER I was saved. I'm only human.

Not kidding at all. And am very glad that immature and painful portion of my life is over and that I'm smart enough to let the Spirit guide me to make wiser choices and better decisions now.

DR.G. HI
For years and years I wandered around not knowing if I wanted to be a part of any Religion or NOT. Then my granddaughter was born, that experience turned me to God, and I have been there ever since.

You can't really "lose" it but you can backslide and revert to your old ways. Once you receive it, it's yours, unless you choose to ignore it. Then it's more like thrown away than lost. He's still a prayer away.

As long as you have God in your mind, body, and soul he will never leave you and you will never leave him that is said to be a fact. Except for me, God and me have a love and hate relationship, he comes and goes when he wants....
