Spirituality helps me be a better wife. To not think just about my own desires and needs but to put my husband first and think about his needs and desires. I don't do this because I have to, I do it out of love and respect of my spouse.

Marriage is the union of a man and a woman to live together as Husband and Wife according to the standards set out i the Holy Scriptures. Marriage is a divine institution. (God performed the first marriage when it brought Adam and Eve together) Gen 2:22-24.

My wife and I are both atheists so spirituality has no effect on our marriage. We've been together for over 8 years and it hasn't been a problem at all.

My husband and I have a lot of fun together making fun of organized religion.

He also pokes fun at me when I get uptight because as Taoist I'm supposed to go with the flow and not care so much about outcomes (true I would not be uptight if I could manage this, but I do care, so oh well).

And when we argue and I'm right he threatens to quote Scripture at me (he's a rabid atheist) because it says I'm supposed to submit (which we both know is not possible for me).

My wife is a Christian, I am not. Coming up on 11 years with no problems on that front.

Dio: Your spirituality shouldn't affect how you do or do not help out around the house.

I am such a better husband when I do the right things.

Pray -- read the scriptures -- keep the commandment -- etc.

I become slow to anger and I tend to help more around the house.

And -- not to be crude -- I tend to see a lot more action.

Added:
rstykn1ght -- it does

when I have spiritually fed myself I do tend to help more around the house.
