I've studied a good deal of Jewish literature, mostly by osmosis, and I have never quite figured this one out. Apparently it's all hereditary: those of us who happen to be descended from the twelve tribes of Israel (there are two left, it seems, and I'm from the Kohen branch) have what they call a 'covenant' with God, which means that if we keep his commandments, he'll send down a messiah to get us out of this jam.
It hasn't been much fun for anyone since. What happened is that we got chosen to get the crap beat out of us by every new civilization that arose, and they've been pretty thin in the messiah department, too.
And so personally I've decided that I'll just have to go it alone, and that the 'covenant' thing ran through its expiration date a long time ago.

No, I think they wrote the Torah and the rest of the books of the "Old Testament" because they believed they were the chosen people, not the other way around.

Not all Jew's are the chosen ones. Not all Muslims are the chosen ones. Not all Christian's are the chosen ones. Some Atheists could be the chosen ones and not know it. Most of all I pray that I am the chosen one.

Jews are the chosen people because that's what they believe. If you want to be the chosen person, go ahead, choose yourself.
I believe the Lictensteiners re chosen by someone because they have a beautiful country and bother no one.

Christians are God's Chosen People.
The Apostle Peter said so, for he told those who believe in Christ Jesus, "Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people...Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God" (I Peter 2: 9,10).
Jesus told those who believed in Him: "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you." Everyone who has faith in Christ is chosen by Jesus. Was the whole Jewish race chosen by Jesus? No, absolutely not. He declared that the pharisaic Jews were of their father the devil (Matthew 23).
Our Lord also set the record straight in the book of Revelation where, in Chapter 17, verse 14, it is revealed that those who are of Christ "are called, and chosen, and faithful."
Most Jews are not faithful to Jesus. They hate Christ and they despise true Christianity. Their false religion, Judaism, mocks Christ and disparages the cross. It is a travesty and it is unscriptural to claim that Jews, as a race, are "called, and chosen, and faithful."
The scriptures firmly declare: "Whoso denieth the Son the same hath not the Father" (I John 2:23). Jews who embrace Judaism have neither Jesus nor His Father.
One woman wrote me and insisted: "I am a Christian, but as a Gentile I am not one of God's Chosen People." Be very careful, I told this precious lady. If you are not God's chosen, then you belong to Satan. Now answer me, dear friend: Are you chosen by God or are you of the household of Satan? It is one or the other. Think about it.
Moreover, if you are Christ's, you are also Abraham's seed and heirs of the promise. Dear friends, here is the one Bible verse the Judaizer preachers always have hoped you'd never discover:
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)
Glory! That's it! Dispute no more. Christians of any and all races are Abraham's seed and heirs of the promise. You become Abraham's seed and heir by God's grace, not because of your race!
Now consider this: Abraham was promised in Genesis that his seed would bless all the families on earth. By bringing the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, to the whole world, Christians are indeed blessing the nations.
What's more, in Genesis, God promised that whosoever blesses Abraham and his seed, God would also bless. So, whosoever blesses Christians, God blesses. How much better can it get than that? Want a blessing? Then, do something to bless God's Chosen People, Abraham's seed: Christian believers in Jesus Christ!

God's chosen people are not just Jews, but "spiritual Jews" .... those who have obeyed the Gospel unto salvation (rom 1:16).
God's salvation is for everyone ...
God is no respector of persons (rom. 2:11)...
as long as you obey the LORD's doctrine (rom.6:17) ...
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (james 1:22)
God hath from the beginning chosen those unto salvation through sanctification of the Spirit & belief of the truth whereunto He called them by the Gospel. (2 thes. 2:13-14)
b/c i am christian, i believe that only those who are born again as Jesus said in john 3 will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus said He alone is the way, the truth & the life.
(john 14:6) ... not muhammad.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. (jn.14:7)

we r all gods people. we are taught that our Jewish friends are the chosen ones BECAUSE it says so in the Bible. I happen to agree. I dont know how Jewish people feel about this. But God left land to Abraham which has become Israel and Israeli people are so beautiful....dontcha think? SO pretty. But I have no problems with any of these two groups of people. Their beliefs are THEIR business and I am Catholic and I know how hard it is just trying to be catholic in the SOUTHERN US!!! So its gotta be even HARDER for Jewish people and Muslims. Not just here but everywhere. God made everybody and even you and you should accept this and not be so huing up on race and religon. Your ways are your business. Period.
