This is a question that is as old as time and I don't believe that there is truly an answer. Only thing I can offer you is the knowledge that went "bad things happen to good people" they will have a guardian angle watching over them & they will have a light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't think it is that bad things only happen to good people you just don't care when it's the bad ones and not much is said about it! But when it's a good person they get more recognition thus making you think it only happens to the good ones!!

Bad things happen to everyone, but remember bad is relative, what might be bad for you would be good for me.
Example, my ex wife gets run over by a bus, Bad for her, good for me. LOL
Also you must remember that most bad things can be prevented, by simply making the right choices. At a party and a guy shows up with some pot. Instead of leaving you stay and just ignore him. 5 minutes later the cops bust in and arrest everyone. Guess you should have chosen to leave huh?

For the same reason that good things happen to bad people. LIfe happens and it doesn't make a distinction between what we humanoids consider good or bad.

Because life happens and sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. We can't control nature and we can't control others so as long as you are out in the world their is a chance that something bad will happen. Their is also a chance that something good will happen.
The trick is to have more good then bad. It also helps to learn how to deal with the bad and not let it deal with you.
