As a pacifistic Christian, I certainly don't believe that. I can't think of any Christian I know of personally who would believe such a thing. There's a loud minority of hardline Fundamentalists who might believe that, but I don't think the average mainline Christian is buying it.

Only God and President Bush know for sure, but it's certainly Biblical since there are many stories in the Bible where God says that He calls nations to be his instrument of judgment on other nations. Certainly Saddam was a wicked man with wicked sons who brutalized the poor in that country. Those are just the types of things that God says that He hates for rulers to do.

Isaiah 3:13-15
The LORD has taken his place to contend; he stands to judge peoples. The LORD will enter into judgment with the elders and princes of his people: "It is you who have devoured the vineyard, the spoil of the poor is in your houses. What do you mean by crushing my people, by grinding the face of the poor?" declares the Lord GOD of hosts...:25-26Your men shall fall by the sword and your mighty men in battle. And her gates shall lament and mourn; empty, she shall sit on the ground.

Heck no.

God doesn't will war on us. It's the weakness of Man that causes war. He is merely using His name for his own agenda.

That, and Bush is crazy.

Haven't you noticed the ear plugs in his ears? It's the CIA talking to him, not god, but Bush wouldn't know the difference if he fell over them both!

No. I think he took the doctrine of Just War and, rightly or wrongly, expanded it to include preemptive action. I can understand his logic, though I disagree with it.

God can't "tell" anything to anyone because He doesn't exist. What Bush believes is irrelevant, he's a moron.
