Saints aren't DEAD, so verses about not praying to the dead don't apply. Saints have been given Eternal Life through Jesus, remember? (Now that one's in the Bible! John 5:24 among many other verses.)
Also, the verse about "no one comes to the Father except through Me" doesn't apply, either, because we don't use Saints as an "end-around". The saints are with Jesus, they are not apart from him.
When we pray to saints, we ask them to pray with us and for us. The Bible tells us to share one another's burdens (Galations 6:2) and the saints, since they are NOT dead but living eternally, are still part of the Church and still able to share our burdens by praying with us and for us. Furthermore, the Bible says that the "good and faithful servant" will be "put in charge of many things." (Matthew 25:21) So that means that saints -- each a good and faithful servant -- have things to do in heaven. If not praising the Lord and praying for His Church (i.e., us!), what else would they be doing?
If you're looking for a verse that says not to pray to LIVING saints who reside in heaven with Jesus and are "in charge of many things," you're not going to find it.

Firefalcon,
People don't pray saints. Just like you could ask for someone to pray for you, the request is for the saint to pray for the sinner.
Once more for the cheap seats: People don't pray saints.

"‘And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God said to him, "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob"? He is not God of the dead, but of the living . . .’" (Mark 12:26-27)
"Pray at all times in the Spirit with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me . . ." (Eph. 6:18).
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely . . ." (Heb. 12:1).
"And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints . . ." (Rev. 5:8).

Try the 10 commandments..."thou shalt have no other gods before me" Included in this is the prohibition of praying to intermediaries.
Now, if one who wishes to invoke the name of a saint says in prayer something like, "God, please help me in the merit of saint so-and-so...." that's fine. However, if one prays directly to the saint...that's nothing short of idolatry.

You may be confused. When we pray to a saint, we pray that they might intercede with Jesus on your behalf and grant the favor you request. We don't pray to saints themselves, nor do we pray to Statutes of Saints.

...Jesus clearly tells "us" that HE is the Way, the Truth and the Life.... no one comes to the Father but by Him"... no one intercedes for Him...
What is a "saint"?... someone "created" by the dogmas of the Roman Church..... We are all Saints in the eyes of God;
but "praying" to a dead person is as close to Blasphemy as anyone would dare to get...

Praying to saints is not bad, it is not worshiping the saints, you are asking for them to pray for you, we only worship God,
