well, you know what they say...in order to get rid of your fear, you have to face. so i suggest you by yourself a pet snake.
the phobia is called Ophidiophobia

I think you should do research on the different type of snakes. So you can tell which one are more dangerous than the others. Do you have alot of snakes where you live? If so try avoiding them. And also try watching those snake horror movies which look totally faked, probably would change your mind for being afraid of them.

Sounds like a good phobia to me. I don't like them either. One time the kids had a "toy snake"...I was in the yard and told them..."It's not good to leave your toy snake out here...there might be a real one and somebody might think it's a toy one and pick it up". Thank goodness I didn't pick it up....it was a real one. It might be a good idea to have a phobia about even toy snakes.

I don't think it's funny that you're scared of snakes. I'm scared of earthworms. I don't have any info about snake phobias, but I just wanted to let you know that there are people out there with even dumber fears.

Stay away from snakes. I too am terrified of snakes even when I see them on TV it makes my skin crawl. so I shut off the channel and I stay out of yards, so really what is the problem? you don't have to see them everyday.

Snakes are nasty, but I'm not freaky scared of them.. but I'm freaky scared of earthworms!!! And, I am a perfectly normal woman.
