I'm 5'6 and apparently thats too short for most girls. Even short girls like 5'1, like 6'4 guys. That annoys me..when I see a REALLY short girl dating a REALLY tall guy. Its like haha..the girl even in these towering heels still is only up to the guys shoulder. Short girls like tall guys..tall girls like tall guys..medium height girls like tall guys..Does this mean me, and all short guys are screwed?

I've found myself finding the same issue. No big for me, I live and thrive on karma and those too superficial that focus on height will get theirs. Most likely in the form of a 6'2" idiot that treats them like crap.
I don't feel bad or ashamed about what I can't change.

Everyone is different and likes different things! It is a very very broad statement to say that all woman like tall men. Not so! There are many woman that would happily date a man on the short side. If you want to get to the biological reason then it could be that in nature the "alpha male" wins. The "protector" the stud of the group but that doesnt mean all other males go home empty handed!

No, not at all. Some girls like tall guys because it makes them feel smaller which results from their own self image. It is just personal preference, same as you, I'm sure ytou have personal preference. Nothing wrong at all with being shorter, but if you are insecure about it, trust me, girls will pick up on that. Some shorter guys have the short man complex, which causes them to compensate in ways, like being negative or an ***, or feel like they need to try to dominate the female. So bottom line, be confident in yourself, so what how tall you are, it is your level of confidence. My x husband was 5'4", his height never bothered me and I'm 5'6". Whould you not go for a girl because she didn't have huge boobs, or if she was curvy. It is all personal preference, everyones is different!!

no of coarse not. There are plenty of girls out there that don't care about height. Look at Tom cruise. He's like 5'5 and he still gets chicks. It has a lot to do with your personality and looks. If a girl is attracted to you she wont care about any of your insecurities and 5' 6 isn't that short. I would date a guy that was 5'6. So maybe if you have more confidence and stop stereotyping you'll get a girl.

I think it's ok aslong as the guy is a couple of inches taller than me. Like i'm 5'4 and i dated this guy that was 5'6, and he was really nice, wouldn't go shorter personally though. My current boyfriend is 5'8/9 and he's absolutely drop dead gorgeous, i prefer him to be this size than 6'4 or something. I wouldn't worry about your height, my bf quite short and ALL my friends are jealous of me cos of him and my family think he's the perfect height. Most girls are your height or shorter anyway.

no way, I love short men...I'm 5 foot 9 inches tall and have dated alot of men who where as short as 5 foot 5 inches tall...I just don't know why that is though, maybe the fact that a few have said how much they like dating a girl thats taller then them...( must be the long legs thing )
so I guess that I'm an exception to that rule !!!

It's their loss! I find that shorter men treat their women better due to them having to work so hard to get one from the start. I dont really have a preference 5' 6'' is not that short as far as Im concerned and Im 5'9". One day they will realize that you are both the same height when in bed!

Girls feel protected by guys that are taller than them. We're supposed to fit under their arm, and they're supposed to stand in front of us and block anything coming our way that we don't want. It's just all a romantic fantasy basically.
But most girls do like taller guys, they're hot and I guess them being taller than us makes them a little mysterious.
Shorter guys do have to work harder, but it depends on the girl you're after. If she's shallow, don't bother, you're not tall enough. If you're after a girl that truely cares about YOU then she'll see your personality and love you for that, regardless of whether you're a foot taller or shorter than her.
And whoever said something about not dating dwarves, don't diss us short people! Great things come in small packages!

For the most part women like tall men. There are however plenty of women who date men that are shorter than they are.
The hard part is finding these women. There are plenty of men on the lower half of the height scale who are happily married. Like the rest of us you have to go through the process of trying to find that one.

its something to do with the mind. something about dominance. you say that it annoys you..when you see a REALLY short girl dating a REALLY tall guy. i think it would annoy you more if you see a REALLY short guy dating a REALLY tall girl. maybe not cause you're short, but the latter seems weird whether you're short or not
