Yes, when and if our government takes some real drastic steps to improve supply availability here in the US. We need to stop our dependency on foreign oil, with Gulf oil drilling, etc. It can be done safely as to not hurt the environment.

... better, as in ... back down to the levels they were when we were children?? Probably not. I'm personally convinced that oil companies just start arbitrarily raising prices just to see how high they can push them -- $3.69 a gallon for regular unleaded or more isn't unheard of anymore... then we feel all good about it when the prices "drop" to $2.98 a gallon. (Forgetting that they started at $2.25 a gallon a few months earlier)

In regards to hybrids - we'll probably see more and more of these as the years go by because people are coming around to realizing that these are perfectly fine vehicles.

Gas prices just got better in CALIF. during August 2007. Each state has different taxes, and some states have excessive transportation costs. CALIF gasoline prices have dropped to below $3.00 per gallon for REGULAR, MID GRADE and SUPER during the last month. Other states closer to the OIL wells and refineries may have noticeably lower prices.

Don't hold your breath while waiting. And there are cars out there which get better mileage than the hybrids. The hybrids are over priced and over rated.

They predict that fuel will get cheaper in the next 10 years, probably down around a dollar a gallon again as technology increases and the demand for fuel lessons.

I think we can expect it to go 50 cents up or down. That's the most difference I feel we will see for quite some time.
