Wicca & Paganism

2007-08-29 08:45:03 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 0

Most religions aren't strictly patriarchal. Most pagan religions (especially Alexandrian Wicca) stress the balance and polarity of gender.

Some even go the other extreme and lean towards matriarchal, but those are usually the ones filled with fluffy women who read the DaVinci Code and decided that they should be worshipped by groveling men.

There are quite a few, but most of them aren't found in the U.S.

Do a little research on religion and find one that you like.

Truthfully, a lot of religions that are in the U.S. are seen as patriarchal, but they didn't start out that way.

yes! There are some Pagan religions.

I BELIEVE (and don't quote me on this, I could be missing a step) but I think I heard that Dianic Wiccans are MATRIARCHAL. I dont' follow that, because it's just the opposite of patriarchial.

Also, other Pagan religions use both female and male deities because they believe in balance. That's more of what I subscribe to.

Blessed be!

Wicca believes that God is male and female. Pagan beliefs differ, but Goddess worship is included among them. You can easily research on the net.
