Deut 4:2 is the one you refer to I think Also rev 22:19 tells part of what happens when you do change Gods word, and there are more> One particular one I know is there talks about not changing even the dotting of the i 's and the crossing ot the t's but this morning I havent found it . If others have that from memory I pray that will write it for you too. SO many new Bibles out there today where they even change words and so on with words nowhere similiar, but maybe lets say something goes to a verse 19, and in a new Bible it goes to only 12. Whole sections are being left off. The closest to the original is the King James Bible, and then with study of some of the greek and hebrew words, you find even deeper wisdom there, doesnt change your views, but will only deepen them. God is so great to give us His full and Holy Word. PPL dont have to believe Gods word, its all choice, BUt if you can claim to be christian, that means being a follower of Jesus Christ, somene who belives and obeys and lives like Jesus. This is in the HOly Bible. Read in 2 john 7-12 where God tells us that anyone bringing you GOd without the full teachings of Jesus is false. MEaning JEsus is the son of GOd, that HE lived on this earth and preached , that HE died for your sins, and rose again to save us from spiritual death. That when HE died, His death meant we have the annointing power of God to overcome all sin. If we believe it and we live it then we are Gods. Now noone has to believe that. God doesnt force anyone, so sure not my job either. I can only tell you about the God of the Christian faith. we can read christian books that expound on those belivees, way kool. Some ppl word things so great that the picture is even clearer, BUt if we cant prove what we believe just by the word of God, then its not Gods word we are preaching. any book or any religion, or anyone that puts something as an authority over the word of God is in false belief. Thats not what GOd of the HOly Bible says. NOw they can believe in whatever god they choose to and believe any book they want is holy. whatever. its all choise, But I am telling you what the God of the HOly Bible that I believe in says. We are free to choose who we believe and if we obey or not. But to be Christian means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. God commands us to obey, thats the sign of a true followr of Jesus. they live as He lived, speak as HE spoke and have the love of God all over them, doing just as He did. I am not their judge, but God will judge and He tells us waht being a christian means. I speak His words, that are therefore my words. But its all free choice IF we use another book to prove our beliefs and its not in the Bible then its not christian religion, but its stil religion of choice. Many are called by God and only a few will answer that call. Great question, I am glad you asked it. God will bless you.

Your friend is right - all the verses cited so far, in Revelation, Proverbs and Deuteronomy, refer only to that particular book. The Bible as it stands today is a fairly recent compilation, and several Christian churches accept different books. The Catholic church accepts the Apocrypha as part of the canon, for example.
Even the verses about "another gospel" can be difficult to use. After all, who knows which was the original, and which is the "other" or "different" gospel. It has been 2,000 years since the original gospel was preached. A "different" gospel might have come to be accepted in that time.
The fact is that there is nothing which says that there cannot be another book of scripture. Get over it.
In fact, there is a great deal that says there can. The Bible testifies to its own incompleteness, referring often to sacred works which we no longer have. See Josh. 10:13; 1 Kgs. 11:41; 1 Chr. 29:29; Eph. 3:3; Col. 4:16; Jude 1:14–15, Matt. 2:23; John 8:56 - note that Jesus quoted from these lost works!) Were these lost books to be discovered and translated today, they might be an addition to the Bible.
Remember too that many people were greatly affected by Judaism and religion, and may have written down their experiences with God. Who is to say that were their writings to be discovered, their experiences would not also be valuable to us, perhaps even to the extent of being scripture.
Do you seriously think God has nothing more to say to us?

There is no such verse. There is nothing that says that GOD cannot make a man like Joseph Smith His prophet, and tell him to write more of His words, and make another scripture.
In fact, you will find NO verse in the Bible that even speaks of THE BIBLE. That's why Rev. 22:18 can't be speaking of THE BIBLE, because when John wrote his revelation, there WAS no such thing as THE BIBLE.
Tell me, how do you know that God even gave any of the writers of the Bible the authority to write His words and make them into scripture/canon?

Try Galatians 1. There is an angel coming and telling Joseph Smith a bunch of things that are not found in the Bible about the big doctrines: salvation, nature of God and so forth. In the Book of Mormon, they even contradict themselves on some of these major teachings.

The only verse is in Revelations and it only pertains to the book of Revelations that John wrote. All the other books of the Bible were written separately and by different authors from about 1400 BC to about 90 AD.

You are asking the in the wrong place. The right place would be on your knees by your bed or other private place. That's what I did. However that night I had a voice in a dream that stated ( Why would the Bible be Thine only work? Other books have been written, books are being written, and there are books yet to be written.) Of course you can say to me that was just a dream and I will tell you yes it was a dream however it was a dream that I will always be thankful I had, so that I could know the truth. This of course will not help you but as for me I now know the truth.

When someone rewrites something and changes the words of the original writer and then says it is "The Gospel According to Matthew, Mark, Luke or John" , they are liars. 2nd Thess 2:2, tells us not to be shaken in mind by a letter AS FROM US. That is exactly what these revised & rerevised editions are; letters as from Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, James & etc. The law required at least 2 witnessess and God gave us more than 2 but these men saw Jesus and spoke to him before and after his resurrection. That is what a true witness is; someone who saw and heard with their own eyes and ears. Why would anyone presume to change their eyewitness testimony?

Hope this helps:
Deuteronomy 4:2
Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your Father's giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
Proverbs 30:5, 6 states, "Every word of God is tested…Do not add to His words lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar." Since God's Word is pure and truth (Ps. 12:6; John 17:17) any changes to His Word will ultimately change the truth of God into a lie with resulting disastrous consequences. (Rom. 1:25ff; Ezek. 5:6; Rev. 22:18,19; 21:8)

Deut 4:2, Deut 12:32
But these were written by Moses - so that would mean no adding to the bible after Moses, which we know happened due to further revelation and the life of Christ.......
A careful reading of each of these admonitions makes it clear that man is not to make changes in the revelations of the Lord: man is not to add to or take from the words of God....
There is no indication or intimation that God could not, or would not, add to or take from; nor would any reasonable person with a belief in the divine powers of God consciously believe that God would be so restricted. Without question he would have the right and power to give additional revelation for the guidance of his children in any age and to add additional scripture.
A study of the revelations of the Lord in holy writ confirms the fact that it is continuous revelation that guides prophets and the Church in any age. Were it not for continuous revelation, Noah would not have been prepared for the deluge that encompassed the earth. Abraham would not have been guided from Haran to Hebron, the Land of Promise. Continuous revelation led the children of Israel from bondage back to their promised land. Revelation through prophets guided missionary efforts, directed the rebuilding of Solomon’s temple, and denounced the infiltration of pagan practices among the Israelites.
Before the ascension of Christ, he promised the remaining eleven apostles, “lo, I am with you alway, Even unto the end of the world.” (Matt. 28:20.) Following his ascension, he guided the Church by revelation until the death of the Apostles and subsequent apostasy of the Church of Jesus Christ.
A distinctive sign of the last days that will precede the eventual second coming of the Lord was seen in vision by that same Apostle who recorded the book of Revelation. He said:
“I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.” (Rev. 14:6.)
The fact that John saw a messenger from God reveal anew a lost gospel negates the argument that further revelation could not be added to the Bible.
