I don't need to click on your link to be stunned by your method of reasoning - lack of insight - and total disregard for common sense. I'm almost speechless... and trust me, that says a lot!!!

After reading the article --- How frightening? At least the family is alive and he is locked up for the rest of his miserable life... with the very same bible that seems to have led him to such insanity. Almost ironic ha, that's all he's got left!

Firstly, my dear, you need to learn to spell. It is very hard to read what it is you're trying to say. (Such as "atheist" instead of all your various spellings.)

Secondly... the 10 Commandments of the Bible include the following words --- "Thou Shalt NOT Kill." These commandments are supposed to be the ultimate rules from God that surpass any others. It is also against morality and government sanctioned laws to kill someone else. So that's three strikes right there.

And lastly, Abraham (in the Bible) did try but God had stopped him from doing so. Abraham did not actually kill anybody --- this guy however, was just about to light the match, and chances are his family woke up because they smelled the gas. There is no legitimate reason for killing anybody, and just the mention of it goes against all the tenets of Christ's teachings. With, of course, Christ's teachings being the basic beliefs of the Christian faith... or so I've been taught all my life.

If this man was mentally ill, then he needs to be somewhere to receive treatments -- and NOT be released back into the rest of society (Andrea Yates, anyone?). If he was not ill, then he is ill in his Spiritual self, and I think his guilty conscience will get him in the end. Either way, he should not be around other people, period.

If, according to you, the definition of "Atheist" has changed to "A person who clearly believes that killing other people is wrong" then Yes! Sign me up for that train! It seems to me that you are saying to be a true Christian you must harm others whenever you choose because "God says so"; that is truly NOT what I desire in a religion.

Besides... how do YOU know that this guy didn't have the devil whispering things in his ear, pretending to be God? They say he can be VERY convincing...

nicely i don't think of there is any 'suitable' for determining "God." interior the tip, each and every thing is the universe is in step with risk. something which could take place will take place given sufficient time. pink unicorns can rain from the sky for some unknown reason, and that still does not be God's doing. there is often the opportunity of an exceedingly effectual and technologically more desirable extraterrestrial species appearing so stated as "acts of God" i'm no Atheist, and that i do have faith in God. yet i think in a God who does not interfere interior the universe. the sole way i may well be valuable of God's life is that if there is a few sort of afterlife/greater life after dying. finally, i'd desire to declare that a "God" who tries to coach that he's God does not be very Godlike (that is extra resembling human thoughts of satisfaction). God, an all-powerful entity, ought to care much less no rely if or not a gaggle of homo sapiens on a small planet interior the midst of nowhere worships him or not.

PPL? How kin u NOT lisn 2 this prson!!!1? BCZ they R so ntelijent that u know. U KNOW!1! they R right! the ATHIETZ police r lock up the rong ppl! cliam! CLIAM

Okay... Abraham never had to kill his son. God STOPPED him. He was testing Abraham's faith and loyalty in God.

If you're a Christian, you would KNOW that.

You would also happen to know the 10 Commandments, so I don't even have to tell you that he broke one of them more than once.

I wish I was an ATHIETZ police.... because it sounds so frikkin' cool.

I just know I'm gonna get a thumbs down, too, because the person who asked this question is a total moron. >>

Um...it's called upholding the law...which ou Christians say that your book inspired...also, why would God want someone to kill his own family? Even IF He 'helped' the family by waking them? Shouldn't a God like that be rebelled against, not prayed to and worshipped? Also, many of the police officers are frickin' CHRISTIAN! Police, or any human for that matter, may not be the judges of your God, but they still have an oath to uphold, to protect and serve. Protecting citizens from people like THAT...best thing they can do. You're so dilusional it makes me want to cry...don't you understand the upholding of the law? Otherwise there'd be a bunch of people killing in the name of God...oh wait...didn't that happen already? I don't think you would want your wife/husband/kids/family killed and murdered in the name of 'God' whether you did it or someone else did....jeez people like him AND you are creepy as Hell...

Maybe God could get you a dictionary for CHRISTmas.

But, how can you possibly say the police locked this crazy up for being CHRISTIAN. They locked him up for being a delusional homicidal maniac. I would have supported him being locked up by atheists, Jews, Christians, or radical Islamic clerics. As long as he is off the streets.

Having said this my 'tongue in cheek' alarm is going off, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Thanks for the link though, I'll use it in my anti-theist arguments from now on.

"Missal is leading a Bible study group at jail.": possibly the scariest thing in the whole story. He is teaching prisoners who might BE PAROLED!!!!

I don't usaully take part in this yahoo questions thing but it seemed appropriate for me to respond. It's simple the man was delusional and he commited an immoral crime of which he should be shackled to a bed for. Perhaps with some shock treatment.

It was God's plan. Atheist police needed to arrest him and lock him up in jail for the next 90 years, so that God's plan can be complete. He needs to be in there to preach to all the criminals. God knew what He was doing, that's why God woke the family before they died. And the kids need to go through harsh times to be stronger. They should add this story to the bible.

Bajingo the retard....

This is exactly why your religion is so stupid. The premise of the article is much the same as the film 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose'. That suffering is necessary.

Why can't you retards see that this is a form of corruption? License for someone to make you suffer if you don't 'conform' [to what?]. I don't respect this man's faith nor his conviction nor his utter moronic stupidity. The person who starred you suggested that we at least read the article. I am sorry I wasted my time on it, and your retarded question...

This man is either schizophrenic or a serial killer, and my guess is Abraham was one too. He should have been locked up, but by the grace of ignorance, look where he's today! Well i think both of them deserve to be locked up.
