Good one! You've hit the nail on the spot. It makes people feel better about themselves when they can point at others and say they're "sinning".
It's all pretty high-school... or even regressed further, play-ground mentality.
The worst sin commited: believing that such nonsense exists!

What are you talking about? If religious believers weren't to blame for their sins, there would be no need for someone to have died for their sins. Then go after the one who is to blame. What sort of "legitimate" way do you need to abstain from sinning? Just don't do it. You don't need to apply any certain techniques to accomplish this, aside from trying to live a righteous life.
The worst sin a person can commit is generalizing about large groups based on a few, instead of realizing that they are a group of individuals.

You're way over-generalizing. Not all religions speak of sin. It gets dodgy even using the term ourside of Judeo-Christianity. I'm not sure what you're looking for as a "legitimate way to abstain." Christianity is full of ways to avoid sin. First is: you have free will, so don't do them. Second, avoid a variety of situations held to encourage sin.
Only one religion says that another person died for our sins.
Religious believers (of whatever religion) frequently do NOT blame other beings or people for their transgressions. Sure, individual Christians blame Satan, but they're not even in the majority. Most Christians hold that no matter how much Satan tempts, one still has the choice to do bad or good.

I don't blame others for my sin. I sin, I know it, and I take responsibility for my sins. Some one did die for my sins-and everyone else's sins too-Jesus, God's Son.
There really isn't a "worst sin." Some have worse consequences and results (example-cheating on a test at school vs. murder), but in God's eyes, a sin is a sin.
(But IF there was a worst sin, I'd say it would be blasphemy.)

There is no worst sin. A true believer should take responsibility for their sins. Blaming another person or thing for the sin is not really taking responsibility for their actions. I know that my sin is my fault... owning up to it is the only way for forgiveness

The only way to abstain from sinning is simply abstain from sinning. If you know what sin is its a simple choice, commit a sin or don't commit a sin. And yes, Jesus suffered a died on a cross as a sacrifice for all who will believe in him. Also, all sin is equal.

We all sin. I am a born again Christian and I am the first to admit I sin and it's my fault for doing so. I believe Jesus died for my sins but that doesn't mean that we stopped sinning.
We need to ask forgivness of our sins daily and really mean it with our whole hearts.
The worst sin a person could commit would be molesting, torturing and/or killing a child. It is hard to believe that God could forgive such a thing if that person asked for forgivness.

We believe that God can help us resist sin. However, it is a choice to sin (for those of us who believe in free will) and we must answer for it eventually.
I'm not sure I've seen anyone blame anyone else, and if a person is a Christian, we do believe that Christ died for our sins.

I would abstain, but the devil makes me do it!. I'm being sarcastic but a lot of Christians blame their sinful choices on Satan, ask for forgiveness, and do it again! The worst sin, according to the Bible, is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. I guess you can blasphemy against God and Jesus Christ.

Generalize much? I am religious (Christian) and I sin and take full responsibility for those sins, and attempt to learn from them. The Bible tells us ALL will sin... Biblically speaking the worst sin is "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" which roughly translates to denial of the truth. You can't be forgiven for a sin you don't think you are committing.

Where did you get that idea? Anyone who knows the Bible knows that our sin is our own fault. Yes we were born with a sin nature, but we also made the conscious decision to lie...to lust...to steal. But you are correct that we believe someone else died for our sins. It was God himself, the Son Yeshua Jesus Christ, who paid the price so that we don't have to. There has never been a greater love than that.
